It's quite tight but I assume if LH allowed me to book it, it should be fine.

Now that I look at LH2389's history, it's always a bit delayed... Now i'm starting to worry a bit: on paper I only have 45min layover but out of the past 7 days, 2 landed 20min late, one 50min late and May 23rd landed in NUE....

If really I miss the connection due to late arrival, will LH take care of rebooking me on the next available flight? It's on a single ticket.
There are currently a lot of thunderstorms in MUC and surrounding, causing these delays. September should be much more calm, so I would not yet be worried about these delays.

Thanks,
/Markus

This use of "International" is misleading, as most Schengen flights are also international. Certain Schengen destinations are also subject to customs inspections/clearance (Norway, Switzerland, Iceland) as these countries are not in the European Union. It must be said that customs checks for transit passengers at MUC isn't very obvious!

The United app is extremely helpful in showing routine between the two gates but I still not clea whether I will have to clear immigration before boarding the flight to IBZ. Are there any immigration facilities at IBZ or will I have to go through immigration and collect my checked bag in MUC? The connection time is about 1.5hr which may be a bit too tight for me to be comfortable with. How does that sound?
Meckl and nollbit are correct. Passport and immigration at first point of entry into the Schengen zone (in your case MUC), customs clearance at the final destination (IBZ). This is somewhat confusing for travellers from the US, as the US insists that all passengers in international transit actually have to enter the US with their luggage, even when only staying in the airport, and even when the luggage has been tagged through to the final destination. This is accented by the fact that US entry facilities are integrated more than in Europe: for instance do US passport inspectors check and stamp the customs declaration form.

In Germany the passports are checked by the police, the customs clearance is done by customs officials: two distinct agencies.

If your inbound flight is slightly delayed you might get a direct transfer to the DME flight.

From FCL Main to Satellite FCL it took 30 minutes, bus leaves Main from G61 & arrives Satellite K20

So 15-20 minutes “longer” than usual is probably just about right.

Yes, you got it spot on, of course I’m not a teenager and after a couple of Glasses of Pommery Louise I might have been slightly slower than the average pax

But the Bus transfer is not nice & happy that I don’t have anymore planned during the downtime of the train

l’ve done it and survived, but look forward to the trains being online again, as you do. And I do think they should have a shuttle for F pax, as they did during the renovation of the FCL in the main terminal.

In FCL E now, trains are running since it’s a Friday 👍
Just as well since it’s also raining.
Yes, very poor that they don’t do the FCL shuttle.

Hi,

I would like to have an understanding of the transfer process from the experienced for an upcoming flight. I always transfer in FRA (which is hell as we all know) and have no experience with MUC. I want to understand if I will have any lounge/smoking lounge time.

Inbound from DUS, 14:10 T2 (EW)
Outbound to YVR, 15:35 T2 (LH)

Same terminal but no idea about gates. I'm not worried I won't have enough time to connect, more wondering how MUCH time I'll have and whether I have time for both a smoke (1st 2nd and 3rd priority ) and then a snack in a lounge.

MUC has smoking lounges throughout the terminals. Like FRA. Just be mindful that on some days the train between T2 and T2S (satellite) does not run and you have to take a bus. Takes about 20 Minutes longer, so I’d recommend you have your smokes near where your flight departs. Lounge would be priority number 4 then, I guess...

That is to say that I have to transfer from T2S to T2? See, I'm already glad I asked.

Those Camel lounges are great and I will take your advice and do my transfer first and fine one close to departure gate.

Priority #4 will likely fall off the list but I'll survive I'm sure.
