There are some things to criticize about ICPL recent times no doubt, but even the old school rooms / suites whilst long in the leg, are not terrible. The new Mayfair ones are good in the main.
I think you must have dropped very unlucky with the room you were landed with.

Maybe I've been lucky but I've not seen a shower curtain in the hotel since the mid nineties.

Take your point. Not impressive. Very 1980's Hilton.
EDIT: Just discussing with the wife and much as I consider myself something of a PL regular, she corrects my comment. She says we have had rooms on a few occasions that have indeed had shower over bath and a shower curtain.

Update from recent poor stay
After finding a way to post a review of my stay via the IHG website, which I'm not 100% sure got published the hotel reached out and offered me 50,000 points to compensate for the poor parts of our recent stay as documented up thread. This seems pretty fair to me. Hopefully nobody else is as unlucky as we were.

We had a wonderful stay in the end. We were upgraded to a King Premium room so it felt spacious, despite the furnishings definitely being on the shabby side! It was the service that made it outstanding though, super attentive without being formal and being escorted to a free table at breakfast instead of just being told to find your own on a busy weekend morning. We got free breakfast on both mornings, points, a drinks voucher plus a cake and bottle of wine for my OH's birthday. Possibly the best use of 80k points ever?!!

Glad you enjoyed your stay and it was a succes for your OH'd birthday !

The Parklane really seems to be suffering from an identity crisis,
it can be good software wise
but it can sad if one get stuck with old hardware

Looking for any experiences of the Prestige Suite here? https://parklane.intercontinental.co...nature-suites/
It's the one category up from the Hyde Park Suite Mayfair Floor which the hotel has confirmed they would upgrade to for a diamond ambassador.
We're returning from honeymoon in the maldives later this month and feel its a good excuse to splurge. Any experiences here?

Congratulations on your wedding! I was in a Prestige Suite in May, my stay review can be found here:
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/35289502-post52.html
They are nice rooms, mine was a park view which afforded a few extra square metres over the standard Prestige Suite. I found the space felt cramped as you immediately walked in, as the dining table is right in front of you but the room opens up nicely. Huge bathroom and very handy dressing room. The bedroom was airy with excellent air conditioning…not that you need it in the UK at the moment.
Overall the room was very nicely presented, lots of ornamentation etc. I may have some pictures which I’ll upload if I can find them.

I do have a free night cert which I currently have booked at Park Lane but a 1 bed classic there doesn't really excite!
Thanks for the review. I'm trying to justify whether it's worth the cost! We have lounge access with the milestone reward and 4pm late checkout is needed.
If you do have any pics, that'd be great.

You can’t finish your honeymoon in a classic room! Given where you’ll have been I think you’d be very happy staying in a Prestige Suite, it’ll cap what will be an amazing trip! I was staying on an Amb weekend cert so it wasn’t too expensive but, for a special occasion, I’d spend the money. I’m still not quite over the fresh milk situation there though!!
I only have three pictures that I took at night so apologies they’re not great.
The main door is the one just visible on the far right. The other door is a toilet.
Here’s a view from the other end.
Bedroom leading to the dressing room and on to the bathroom. The dressing room was used far more than I thought it would be. It’s a great size and perfect for ironing, luggage and…dressing!

I've gone ahead and booked it. Why not. May as well finish up in style too. Very much a fan of the park lane but only in Mayfair rooms. Their non Mayfair rooms, and particularly their entry level rooms, really need refurbing.

Just to update. Booked Hyde Park Suite Mayfair Floor last night. This morning I checked and the room type has already been changed to Prestige Suite Mayfair Floor.
When I emailed them a few months ago to enquire about the signature suites I received a quote for £1875 for one night for Prestige Suite Mayfair Floor. Pretty decent one cat upgrade!

Restaurant Najma Lebanon @ IC Parklane
Well really,
Well that went really fast:
https://thecaterer.com/news/alex-web...nental-closure
https://www.thedrinksbusiness.com/20...er-six-months/
calling IC Parklane furniture Atacama40 aka King of Parklane gossip.....
Any idea why Alex Webb's restaurant at IC Parklane ended in just a 6 month residency ?
You begin to think that,
that F&B venue space in the hotel,
might be cursed by the haunting ghost of the old headless abbot,
causing all restaurants to fail victim to failure
(Cookbook cafe / Rita's Mexicana / and Alex Webb)
A silent introduction of a new concept using that space ....
Najma Lebanon
The only mentions online are
https://www.thebitemag.com/2023/07/24/najma-lebanon/
https://parklane.intercontinental.com/najma-lebanon/
https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restau...n_England.html
https://www.thefork.com/restaurant/n...ebanon-r734449
Could prove popular and a solid sturdy choice with the ME
aka - $€¥£clientèle staying at the hotel and their preferred taste palate for which €$¥£ is no objection to spend
(or park the harem there in familiiar surroundings)
but wouldn't it be quite spooky if even this ME-concept would go bust ........,
the unstoppable curse of the headless old Abbot ......
instead
could be a nice space to have a tea room séance like the inhouse psychic team at Selfridges

espcially Jane Wallace whom does the stars like Kim Kardeshian
https://www.psychicsisters.co.uk/readers/jayne-wallace
but to return back on topic,
we had a reservation at Alex Webb but we received no word at all that it went bust .......
