Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

This link is to the virtual tour and then you have to go to the "Traditional Presidential Suite" link.
3. Not sure of the square feet, but I would say about 4 times a regular room.
4. 1 bedroom & 1.5 bath, also had a private sauna
5. Yes, A
6. Upgrade had said "suite connector", I called and was told it would be an "atrium suite", upon check-in front desk manager came out and asked if it would be ok to put us in the presidential suite. Took me about a nano second to respond.
What was your rate? This is almost unheard of at the PH DC.

2 Weeks Ago:

1. Chicago Hyatt Regency
2. Jr Suite w/ 1 DBL bed (Had reserved KING)
3. Unknown (more like an oversized room)
4. 0 Bedroom, more like a small studio
5: Rating: D

This was my first time using a certificate and while I was not expecting the presidential suite, I got something more like a slightly oversized room with a single double bed, two chairs and a table in the EAST wing (club is in the west wing) and not much of a view.

Hotel insisted it was the best they could do and I was not happy (especially after I stayed here 4 times, 10 nights in the past 90 days).

Hyatt Key West

1. Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa
2. Suite type - Salon King, not an actual suite, just a big room - no suites at the hotel
4. One bedroom, one bathroom, and a small sitting area in front of the single TV
5. Since there are no suites, the room (#1401) likely was the best in the place
6. Booked the suite and an adjoining room with the plan to share a common "living room" and then have separate bedrooms. Could not do that with just the big salon king room. Had I known, I would not have used the Suite Upgrade or gotten the adjoining room.

Still, a very nice room with a good view.

Just finished 3 Nights:
1. PH Chicago
2. Park Suite
3. 831 Sq Ft
4. 1 Bedroom, 2 Bath (1 oversized w/separate bath/shower (shower big enough for 3 ppl))
5. My over all grade is B+/A- (reasons below)
6. I called in advance when using this upgrade and I explained that there are two things that matter to me (I dont need both but prefer at least one): They are: High Floor or a view. Unfortunately, I got neither as my room was on the 6th floor and the view was of the Peninsula Hotel across the street. If I had the view or a high floor it would be an easy A!

The room was amazing and I am generally very happy with it! Probably one of the best rooms I have every stayed in. I took long showers, baths, enjoyed the sound system and DVD player. TV was huge (prob 40+ inches). Service was amazing. Also, I took advantage of the FREE bike service each day - that was great!

Full breakfast each day. Food was good, although the portions were a bit small.
Great value overall. I used the Costco discount code, then the Costco certificates and the upgrade! Would certainly return and use the upgrade again!

Hyatt Regency San Francisco

1. Hyatt Regency San Francisco at Embarcadero Center
2. Suite upgrade declined (placed in king room on high floor...maybe a Balcony King?, room 1720)
3. ~350 ft
4. 1 bed, 1 bath
5. D
6. Good view from room as it was top floor facing the bay, however, it was most certainly not a suite.

Approximately 10-days prior to the stay I called the Diamond line and applied one of my confirmed suite upgrade awards. The agent called the hotel and confirmed an Embarcadero suite for my stay. Per suggestions on the FT review thread, I called and spoke with a front desk manager who was happy moved me to a Balcony Suite. Upon check-in around 1PM, I was informed that two guests had failed to check out and that suites were not available.

The same FD manager who I confirmed the upgrade over the phone with was on duty that afternoon. He remembered speaking to me and informed me that the best they could do was a high-floor balcony king. He apologized profusely and gave me vouchers for breakfast (not that great since I have the Regency Club w/my status), the 1W amenity and the G2 bonus. It's been ten days and neither the stay nor the G2 bonus have posted. I guess it is time to write/call Hyatt?

Doesn't this entitle you to 5,000 points for not getting your CONFIRMED room type - i.e. the suite?

wpj: Great that you've had all those suite upgrades but unfortunately you're in a different league! As I understand, you get suite upgrades every stay since you are courtesy card. This thread was more for us lower diamond-ites who need to use upgrade certificates =)

As a Diamond, I have been upgraded to a suite more than 90% of the time (so far approx 30 -35 nights as a Diamond).

Many Hyatt hotels upgrade diamonds to available suites at check-in. That is on top of the certificates (which are great!). Hyatt has been wonderful since I switched last year.

Park Hyatt Mendoza

- Booked basic room, but was upgraded to Governor's Suite (multiple upgrade granted due to special occasion)
- Large bedroom with large bathroom. Large living room with small bathroom.
- Very thrilled with the upgrade.

Other info: Booked using Government rate and paid with Costco checks. No difference in treatment.

Who's had success using the Suite UG certificates on top of award or FFN reservations, and where?
