Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

GH Seoul, Korea

1. GH Seoul
2. Grand Suite King
3. Perhaps 450sqft
4. Junior suite. TV serves as divider and separates bed from living area. 1 bathroom with very nice bathtub. Weird layout with lots of space wasted for closets/storage/dressing area. Lots of windows and very nice view.
5. C. This would be a fine free upgrade, but did not feel like a suite, more like a large corner room. Overall, pretty disappointing.

This was my first stay at the GH Seoul. I'm normally at the Grand IC (great hotel with excellent RA treatment), but had to be north of the river (and in Seoul you really don't want to have a long commute). The whole stay didn't feel right, staff consistently ignored me, I never got my welcome gift (even though I know what it is -a bottle of wine and some fruit-; I had two wine glasses and an empty fruit plate delivered to my room ), and the newspaper never materialized. The club offerings were pretty lame, and the club got very crowded. I really enjoyed the view, but I don't think the GH will see me again.

GH Macau, Macau SAR, China

1. GH Macau
2. Grand Deluxe Suite
3. Perhaps 700sqft
4. Very nice suite, 1 BR, seating area, large open bathroom. Very sleek and modern style.
5. B. It's a very nice suite, but felt a bit like a waste of an upgrade certificate, considering that the regular diamond upgrade here is a Grand Suite King (just a bit smaller). I would have at least expected a Grand Executive Suite, not just "the corner version of the room you would have gotten anyway."

Wonderful club, and amazing hotel. I am not a fan of the Cotai strip location and prefer staying in Macau proper (but that's not the hotel's fault). It's a wonderful Hyatt, and Macau is well worth a visit.

Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego

1) Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego
2) Presidential Suite (Rm# 3086)
3) 1040 sq. ft.
4) 1 BR w/ King Bed; 2.5 BA; Living Rm; Dining Rm w/ seating for 8; wet bar; kitchenette.
5) Solid A. Slightly dated decor but still very nice. Outstanding 30th floor views out three sides of building over much of downtown San Diego and bay. Kitchenette fridge was partially stocked by housekeeping. Nice touch.

Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf

1. Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf (San Francisco)
2. Conference Suite
3. 450 Sq Ft
4. 1 Bedroom and 2 Bathrooms
5. B+
6. View over the front porch of the hotel

Overall a good first stay with a full buffet breakfast (and gratuity) as the Diamond breakfast since there is no Regency Club. The only disappointing aspect was the view across to the hotel across the street rather than of Coit Tower as shown in the hotel photos.

4. A, no grief about letting us stay in the room for the 4 free nights.
5. Ground floor, just walked out to the lawn, saw whales from the bed, no jokes please.

AAA rate of $335 which included breakfast for 2 and then used 4 ffn nights.
that's interesting - may i ask how you set this up. How many paid nights vs. how many free nights did you use? And did you do this through the diamond desk or at the hotel when you checked in - I was looking at doing exactly this but did not know how to set it up

thanks - MTG

Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco

1. Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco

2. Executive Suite http://fishermanswharf.hyatt.com/hya...cale=&start=11

3. 400sqf. on the website - but possibly the 400sqf. was just the size of the living room. It certainly felt far more spacious in reality than it looks on the website.

4. 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom (a bland regular-room bathroom)

5. Rather good, overall - though the absurdly grand Golden Gate suite the Mark Hopkins gave me the next night (for reasons unknown) did underline that this one was comfortable, rather than spectacular. B+

6. This was a corner suite, with views out towards the water (glimpsed through the buildings in front of the hotel)

(...I thought it was about time I put some of last year's certificates in this thread...)

Hyatt Monterey, California

1. Hyatt Monterey, California

2. Studio Suite http://monterey.hyatt.com/hyatt/hote...cale=&start=10

3. Around 650 sqf.

4. This is an oversized room, L-shaped, without a separate bedroom. You enter to a seating area, with the bedroom around the corner. The one bathroom is oversized and lovely.

5. This was a beautiful space, recently renovated - and very comfortable - but arguably not a 'true' suite. In addition, it was in perhaps the furthest building from the Regency Club, and nearest to the main road running along one side of the hotel - meaning that it's a 10/15 minute walk, if you want to pick up a couple of cookies, and 5/10 minutes from the hotel lobby... B+.

6. The view was rather unexciting - a small lawn area. Other suites, I expect, look out to the golf course. Certainly compared to the nearby Highlands Inn, this wasn't much of a vista.

Hyatt McCormick Place, Chicago

1. Hyatt McCormick Place, Chicago

2. Skyline Suite http://mccormickplace.hyatt.com/hyat...=2094&start=13

3. 1000sqf.+

4. One bedroom, huge living-room, with sofas, dining table, mini-kitchen, closets and astounding views. Two (regular) bathrooms.

5. Vast, double-doored and splendid, these suites are (I believe) on floors 35+, and are the standard Diamond suite upgrade. They are also, if you can believe it, the standard Diamond upgrade. The lady at the front desk said I should call Customer Service and ask them to redeposit my certificate, since I would have got the suite anyway. There are some potential quibbles, if you're inclined to quibble - the connection between living room and bedroom is a bit awkward (it's basically an entertainment space with a bedroom tacked on), some of the finishings are a bit frayed, the bathrooms are very ordinary - but overall, a grand space. If using a certificate, A-; if you get it without one, A+.

6. Amazing views of downtown Chicago and the lake.

I received a confirm Diamond suite upgrade at the GH Seattle, but then within a week of my reservation, I had to switch to the HR Belluvue and got a confirmed upgrade there too. It wasn't a problem to get confirmed suite upgrades at either location.

I'm staying at the HR this weekend and will report on the room size, etc.

Just called for a suite upgrade at HR Tokyo - 4 nights at the end of May. Agent said all suites are booked (or at least "blocked from inventory") for my nights. Said to call back and check again next week. 1st time I didn't get a requested upg....

HR Tokyo, HR Shatin & GH Macau

HR Tokyo:
Tried to use upgrade certs last month for 3 nights, but also no availability.

HR Shatin:
1. HR Shatin, Hong Kong
2. Regency Suite King
3. 700 sq. ft
4. 1 king bedroom, 1 1/2 bathrooms, living room with DVD, dining room with table for 4, kitchenette with fridge, microwave, etc
5. A

GH Macau:
Don't waste the upgrade certs if you are Diamonds. Stayed there twice and automatically got upgraded both times to a corner deluxe which was very big and very nice. Also got good welcome amenities - bottle of wine, can of Chinese tea leaves, and chocolates in the evening.

Grand Hyatt Singapore

1. Grand Hyatt Singapore
2. Grand Duplex Suite http://www.singapore.grand.hyatt.com...cale=&start=10
3. 128 sqm
4. 2 levels with separate entrances. First level has the kitchenette with microwave oven, stove, and a fridge (not the mini bar), guest toilet, meeting desk/dining table which sits 6, a large working desk, B&O tv with dvd player, 2 sofas, 1 armchair with an ottoman. Second level has the king bed, another armchair with ottoman, a vanity table, another B&O tv, and a huge bathroom with a tub and separate shower room. Lots of drawers and closet space. Nice view of Scotts Road.
5. Very nice and very spacious suite although the furniture especially the closets/cabinets looked and felt tired and the staircase was quite narrow. Overall a solid B.

I was told that the apparently nicer but smaller, Grand Suite King, is not eligible for Diamond suite upgrades anymore.

HR Chesapeake Bay Resort & Spa

1) HR Chesapeake Bay Resort & Spa, Cambridge, MD (on Maryland's eastern shore)

2) Chesapeake Suite; used confirmed Diamond Suite upgrade

3) 800sf (BR with adjoining LR)

4) King BR w/sofabed & full bath and step out balcony (400sf) + Living Room with sectional couch & sofabed and full bath plus dining table for 6 and full balcony with table and 2 chairs (also 400sf)

5) A - a very large space at a great value with the SFEVER special ($129/nt). Also a great Regency Club.

6) Suite was conveniently located on Regency Club floor 6 with resort view facing front of property. Regency club featured continental breakfast as well as evening snacks with complimentary wine and beer in addiiton to soft drinks, juice, & bottled water. RC also has a great waterview balcony with tables and chairs where we sat out at night and enjoyed the view and wine. RC attendents were very friendly, attentive, and service oriented addressing guests by name. There was a RC mid-day service of which we did not partake
