Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

LONDON ANDAZ
I didn't ask what type of suite -- it wasn't as any described on web site.
large bedroom, but low ceiling, separate room with desk and devon, bathroom was the normal Andaz (for this hotel).
as suites go it was not very exciting . . . but I was very happy to have it as the room had cross-ventilation (I had asked to have the windows unlocked). so I could have the bedroom windows open and the bedroom COLD, and yet have the bathroom and work room cozy.
I was only paying GBP102 per senior weekend night, so I had no complaints.

This is consistent with the suite I had there, to give another data point...

Take a look at the master thread about the Grand Champions, suite upgrades have been discussed in great detail...., to get a villa seems to be almost impossible.

1. Name and location of hotel - Park Hyatt Shanghai
2. Suite type (and link of room from hyatt.com individual property page if possible) - Park Suite King
3. # of Sq Ft - 1350
4. # of Bedrooms (Studio/Jr/1/2) and # of Bathrooms (1/1.5/2) - 1/1.5
5. Were you happy with the upgrade? What grade would you give it (A/B/C/D/F) AAA
6. Any other info (location/view/relative price vs normal rooms/etc) and pics if you want - Absolutely wonderful - The hotel which is situated at 80 or so floors above ground situates the park suite kings at corners so between a very separate large living/dining room and bedroom you have around 270 degress of views. Everything is plush and well-designed, with a Japanese style bathroom and a gigantic, high-pressured rain shower. Love it!

A twist

HR Mission Bay (was Islandia). Reserved for two, two beds (son and I). Tried Diamond suite certificate. No suites available. Thought. Called back. Asked for a note in reservation requesting same. "Yes." New email confirmation arrived day of arrival "Two rooms, four people", one suite, one not. Called Omaha: "???" "No, it says here we have you in for one suite, two people, two beds" Arrived late. "End" Suite. (Had several of those before the renovation. They were quite nice.) King. "See 6'2" son over there?" Room change. Two beds. Found to be non-suite on arrival at 16th floor. "No two bed suites available." Lights out.

The twist: Still waiting for upgrade to show up (re-deposited) in my account. Anyone else have similar experience -- e.g., cert pulled, not fulfilled, then re-deposited or not? "Or not" is the worry, of course.

Used a confirmed upgrade for GH Erawan in BKK.

Reservation showed as

Room Description:
Hyatt Daily Rate Grand Suite King
1 King Bed:
Floors 11-22:
80 Sq M Dining Room:
2 Baths:
Grand Club:
Separate Sitting Room
Wound up getting xx08 corner suite, at end of property facing the small golf course/exercise track. Good space for us travelling with 7 month old.

Not a bad deal on a roughly US$180 rate...

1. GH Kauai

2. Ocean suite, 6th floor, Shipwreck wing

3. Officially 1200sqft, but it definitely felt more like 800. Maybe if you include the lanais and part of the hallway...

4. 1 Living room, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom

5. Very nice, well-appointed suite with great views. Amazing value for the 24-hr sale rate ($198). We also used FFN in conjunction with this stay, and got to keep the suite for the free nights. A.

6. It was quite a haul to the club, easily 5-8 minutes with all the walking and elevator rides. I'm surprised that they would give these suites to diamonds without handing out vouchers for cab rides to the club , but despite the distance from the club, the suite was quite superb for our needs (we love great views, and from looking at the floorplan, I am not sure there is a suite with a better view).

San Diego

Mission Bay: Assigned an end suite, but it was a king. Son is too big for that to work anymore. Changed us to a non-suite downstairs as that was all they had that was non-smoking with two beds. (So no GP points for not hitting the room-type guarantee. Oh well.) The good parts: It was still a high floor with a view of Ocean Beach, and they immediately re-deposited the suite upgrade certificate.

Manchester Grand: Assigned a VIP suite on the 36th floor. King. Changed to a 9th floor Conference Suite. One bedroom, livingroom with meeting table, pretty nice side view of Coronado.

We do wish that we had first gone up to the rooms we gave up, just to see what they were like. Haven't been to the [then Islandia] in several years, and it was the first time at the Grand.

And yes, I have two beds in my profile, in addition to calling them out in the reservations. Moreover, it explicitly said two beds in the reservations. Oh well. It was all good.

Hyatt Lake Tahoe Resort

1. HR Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa & Casino, Incline Village, NV

2. Per front desk it was called "Presidental Suite"; no picture on web site. Rooms 922 & 924.

3. Don't know sq footage but it was huge. Living/dining room suite area was at least double the size of a regular room, maybe triple.

4. 1 separate regular bedroom w/king bed then connecting door to suite area. Full bathroom for each side. Suite side had: large, L-shaped sectional sofa; dining room table for 6; wetbar w/sink, small fridge, microwave.

5. I would give it a "B". While nice there were some things that were lacking: view of parking lot & hotel rooftop; TV's were old LCD Panasonics; no balcony; honor bar items (huge offering) prominently displayed under the TV; location right off elevator so you could hear people talking in the halls (although it wasn't that bad).

6. This suite would be ideal for more than 2 people as there is plenty of room. At checkout I was told there is a groundfloor, smaller, end suite, with patio in the Spa wing. I think next time I would try for this, as I like to sit outside on the balcony or patio.

GH Dubai

1. Grand Hyatt Dubai
2. Grand Suite King
3. 88 square meters (approx. 1000 square feet)
4. One bedroom, living room, office area, 1.5 bathrooms
5. Definitely A. Very nice layout and views of the pool area and Dubai Creek in the back
6. Extremely satisfied with the suite. Everything felt luxurious, you get to use the mini bar free of charge, get grand club access, free limo transport from/to airport.

Back again this week for a couple night stay on the way back to the US and decided to use another cert. Same deal, got an xx08 room on high floor with same configuration (corner bedroom).
This AM on way to club for breakfast I peaked into a much bigger suite in the middle area of the hotel (near elevator bank). It's bigger, but these corner ones are nice for light.

London Andaz

After engaging in several rounds of emails with both GP customer service and the hotel as to what exactly the suite upgrade should be (cf. earlier posts in this thread... the hotel insists that an "Executive Room" is a suite upgrade), I was told on arrival that I had been given a "courtesy upgrade" to a "regular suite".

3rd floor, so limited view, but decent
large bedroom w/ large sofa, coffee table, and several chairs in 1st room
desk and another, smaller sofa in smaller 2nd room
standard bathroom for this hotel
for me, the only negative was the distinctly ugly (and huge) poster above the (bricked-in) fireplace
I felt the ceiling to be regular height, unlike that experienced by trd, above.

I felt this to be a nice room in exchange for the online upgrade.

Hyatt Regency London -- The Churchill

Unlike the confusion at the Andaz (see above), I received an email confirming a Regency Club Suite immediately after using the online upgrade.

I was very pleased with the suite and felt it to be a very nice use of the Diamond upgrade.

9th floor
incl. access to regency club on 8th floor (key now required)
check-in at regency club desk on 8th floor
balcony (facing Portman Sq.)
1st room -- desk, minibar, sofa, TV, balcony access
2nd room -- king bed, TV, balcony access, bathroom access
Bathroom -- closet, sink, toilet, tub, separate shower

How do I get the free limousine from the airport.I`ve got an email from Hyatt concierge to choose amenities for my stay and there is the limousine offered for 200 AED.As my suite upgrade is confirmed, will they delete the 200 AED from my invoice during checkout, because the limousine transfer should be free?
