Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

Overall very satisfied. Would give it an "A".
Do you recall what the Luxury Tax was on the Regency Suite? I've been upgraded to the regular suite and the Luxury Tax came to the same as it would for the Regency Club Standard Room.

The tax was the same as if I had purchased the Regency King SUITE. It is 10% of the rate of the room/suite you receive, not the one you book.

So taxes came to 2,200 rupees /night, whereas the tax for the base room that I had booked is only 1,000 rupees / night.

So I paid an additional $20 USD/night for the suite ---- not a bad deal though, considering the daily rate for the suite before taxes was 22,000+ rupees/night, and I only paid 10,000 rupees/night (base room).

1. Name and location of hotel - Hyatt Sacramento
2. Suite type (and link of room from hyatt.com individual property page if possible) - Park Capitol Suite ( http://sacramento.hyatt.com/hyatt/ho...ocale=&start=9 )
3. # of Sq Ft - 875
4. # of Bedrooms (Studio/Jr/1/2) and # of Bathrooms (1/1.5/2) - 1/1
5. Were you happy with the upgrade? What grade would you give it (A/B/C/D/F) B
6. The suite was very nice, the bedroom and living area are seperated by 2 doorways, however, there are no doors. The bathroom was very large, however, it has a shower only. If you require/desire a bath tub or a bedroom with doors this is not the suite for you. Otherwise, very nice, large HDTVs, nice couch table seating for 6, desk area.

December Experience, Denver CO

1. Hyatt Regency Convention Center (Denver)
2. Cottonwood Suite on 33
3. 1,500 sq ft.
4. 1 Bedroom, 2 Bath suite (garden tub, walk-in shower, master closet)
5. A
6. Great experience, but the suite is clearly a bit older. They are remodeling a few down the hall (no impact to our stay), so they clearly understand this. The pampering treatment was stellar from the VIP staff. Mountain views and views of downtown Denver.

August Experience, Baltimore MD

1. Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor
2. VIP Suite on top floor
3. Unknown Sq. Ft. (Est > 1,000 sq ft)
4. 1 Bedroom, 2 Bath + LR, DR, Kitchenette
5. A+
6. Outstanding views of the Inner Harbor, plus a very private feeling on the top floor. Wonderful VIP staff provided every amenity we could want. Kitchen had microwave, coffee maker, and n'espresso machine.

1. Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach
2. Junior Suite
3. 800 sq ft?
4. 1 Bedroom, 2 Bath suite (Master bath had whirlpool tub and separate shower plus double sinks)
5. A-
6. This was a beautiful suite! It was not the biggest suite, but the suite was very tastefully decorated and the spa tub was nice. There was ocean view but it was a little obstructed being on the first floor. The people at the property were great and the restaurant had good food (used DEL5K $150 credit). The property and location are gorgeous. I will definitely come back here!

Has anyone used a Suite upgrade at the Hyatt Regency Houston?

What upgrade do Diamonds get using the suite upgrade?

Is the imperial suite better than the Regency Suite?

Thanks.

I've had a heck of a time using a DSU at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver. First attempt was confirmed with no problem. Then I look online and see that it was cancelled. I call the diamond line and they look into it further and say that no suite upgrades are available. I then see Deluxe Suites available for purchase and call back. The diamond line says that the hotel told them no suites available but they ask to speak to a manager who then confirms an upgrade.

Seems like the GM or someone is trying to discourage an upgrade.

Communicating with another Diamond by PM, I wonder if we've uncovered something of a bait and switch tactic. I had two instances in which I reserved - reserved with a CSR, and received an explicit confirmation - a suite with two beds. Upon arrival, in both cases, we were told that we were booked into a King room, and that's all they had at that level. Mission Bay, that meant we were bumped to a two bed regular room. Manchester Grand, that meant a bump from a (26th floor?) VIP suite to a ninth floor conference suite. (Maybe I shouldn't have verbally confirmed at check-in, but 6'2" son was standing right over my shoulder.)

I can't speak officially for the other person, but that person said that the "two-bed" reservation => one-bed-on-arrival-with-bump happened to her, as well. Sorry for being redundant in this thread, but the value-added here is that it seems I'm not the only one with this experience. Also, short of knowing the receptionist or the rooms manager, it would seem that every other kind of confirmation available mayn't stand.

From what I can tell, most suites are king bed rooms. I've tried booking a 2 bed suite and have had problems. I try to find out what type of suite is available and see if the reserved room is a match. Often the reservation is cryptic enough that you can't tell. I will usually call back and see if the CSR can provide further detail for the type of room we are booked under. It's an extra hassle but worth the time.

1. Bali Hyatt
2. Regency Suite xx28 (Corner suite)
3. 1,100 sq ft.
4. 1 Bedroom, 1 bath suite with additional outdoor shower. Powder room in living room
5. A
6. Great experience, crazy big balcony but too many mosquitoes to stay outside. Balcony had lounge chairs, hammock, tanning beds, and an outdoor shower but people could totally see in. You can definitely tell the age but overall a great experience. No clocks in the room which was great for my purpose.

You still got upgraded at the MC Grand as they give most Diamonds the junior suite when using a suite upgrade. Also both the conference suite and VIP suite are about the same. I think you may have got the better end of that deal as some are 3 bay living rooms instead of 2.
