Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

1. Andaz West Hollywood
2. Andaz King Suite - please note that the picture on the website is of a city view king, not a suite
3. 800 Sq Ft
4. 1 bedroom, 2 bathrooms
5. A - loved the suite. Perfect for 2 or a group of 12. Has a tall bar height table with 4 bar stools around it, a large sectional sofa, and the chairs at the window facing the view outside. All suites are at corners of the hotel, so have great views both across Sunset and down Sunset.

How did you manage this? The Ts and Cs say the confirmed suite upgrade cannot be used on a free stay.

I've stayed at this property a couple of times already and when making the reservation with the Diamond desk, I requested the agent to confirm the upgrade. She put me on hold and later came back stating even though normally they cannot confirm an upgrade on a redemption stay, she made a request on the reservation and stated it's upto the hotel to confirm at time of check-in. Soon after I received my confirmation no, I emailed the hotel conceirge to confirm the compl. grand king executive suite along with a spa reservation and received confirmation within 24hrs on the compli. upgrade and spa booking. ^

Once I got to the hotel, the check-in agent in the lobby stated my grand exec. suite is ready with the amenities and the agent at the exec. flr lounge is waiting to check me in. He escorted me upstairs to the 17th flr lounge. Check-in took 2 min and was again escorted to my corner 1702 suite. ^

Sold out??

Wanted to use my remaining E-suite upgrade at GH Singapore for 2 nights. Item was deducted from my GP account online and then I received the following email from Hyatt reservation

Greetings from Reservations!

In regards with your request for using the Diamond Suite upgrade for the upcoming stay from the 04-06Mar10, we regret to inform you that all our suites are sold out and we are unable to confirm the same.

Should I press the issue with either GP, Diamond line, or the hotel directly? I have stayed here in the past and used a similar upgrade and enjoyed myself.

1K+, although it probably doesn't make a whole lot of difference, I'm still unclear. Was your upgrade based on (and consumed) a certificate, or was it because you're special? Not meant to be a sarcastic question.

Here is a question I haven't found an answer to in this thread:

If I buy a "junior suite" type room for a night - could I use the Hyatt confirmed suite upgrade to get into a "presidential suite"?

Thinking about doing this at Hyatt Andaz

It's a good question therefore no offence taken. I also want to note that I wasn't a special guest other than a Diamond member who had stayed at the property twice before (I guess you can call that special ) I just logged into my account and checked my promotional awards section which shows the diamond suite upgrade was redeemed (certificate). Hope this answers your question.

cheers.

I don't believe so since these Suite Upgrades book into the "entry" suite.

Not bad! I have never heard of this before, but do you think that it's a typical benefit of the suites??

I stayed here last week and they upgraded me to a Prince Suite for some reason (I wasn't using a certificate). An utterly huge, and fairly nice, room (but in typical Dubai fashion, a lot of things didn't work well). One benefit that I enjoyed was the stack of better-than-usual magazines, including the Economist, with two copies of each title for good measure.

I think that I like this property better than the Park, all things considered. The rooms are not as elegant of course, and I miss my friend Blaise Mautin (although the Prince Suite gave many 6-ounce bottles of Penhaligon toiletries, which are not as lousy as the usual White River Falls), and it's hard to beat the terraces at the Park. But between the Grand Club -- one of the better ones in the system -- the myriad great food and beverage options, and the location, I prefer it for a longer stay. Perhaps I am not alone; in my last handful of trips to Dubai, the Park rate has been lower than the Grand.

They also gave me complimentary 7-series transportation to the airport, which the Park did once but which seems to not be the norm.
