Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

I called the Diamond Desk. They told me to put the paid night at the start of the reservation and it was unlikely that the hotel would ask me to move, but no guarantees. 1 paid vs. 4 free.

3. 128 sqm
4. 2 levels with separate entrances. First level has the kitchenette with microwave oven, stove, and a fridge (not the mini bar), guest toilet, meeting desk/dining table which sits 6, a large working desk, B&O tv with dvd player, 2 sofas, 1 armchair with an ottoman. Second level has the king bed, another armchair with ottoman, a vanity table, another B&O tv, and a huge bathroom with a tub and separate shower room. Lots of drawers and closet space. Nice view of Scotts Road.
5. Very nice and very spacious suite although the furniture especially the closets/cabinets looked and felt tired and the staircase was quite narrow. Overall a solid B.

I was told that the apparently nicer but smaller, Grand Suite King, is not eligible for Diamond suite upgrades anymore.

wow! Thats a really nice upgrade and change. Why a B? It looks like an A+.

Very nice. My last few stays this GDS has been sold out and for some reason no other suite seems to suit for the E-upgrade. In the past I was upgraded to the GSK using the E-suite upgrades and it is very nice with a great little kitchen should you need to prepare anything although with the abundance of snacks upstairs in the GC why would you. I think I'd prefer the Scotts Rd view vs. the garden 1/2 pool view.

Come to think of it, I thought the B was kinda harsh. A minor issue I had with the Suite was that the ceiling was a bit low on some places (I am 6'2"), I felt like the ceiling was coming down on me. Another thing was that the furniture especially the cabinets/drawers felt a bit old, not that it is run down or anything though. Overall, I would revise my grade to A-.

The agent told me the GDS was routinely given to couples who held their wedding reception there. Don't know how many GDS they have though.

Actually I was going to use the Suite Upgrade the week before this stay, all the GDS weren't available. After much pressing, they relented and could confirm me to GSK. However, I had to postpone my trip by a week and a GDS was available.

I felt that the little kitchen was of no use as there were no pots and pans to cook anything with (and I did open all the cabinets and drawers) and I agree with you on the great snacks in the GC. +1 also on the Scotts Rd view.

Same thing happened to me, I was told to book my 2 paid nights first then my 4 award nights. When using a suite upgrade with paid and award nights the rep recomended that this is the best way to structure it. I then recived about 4 diffrent emails about my stay. Final one was 6 nights in a suite. I called the hotel and they confirmed all 6 nights.

Were the paid nights and award nights booked under the same conformation number?

Read (most of this thread trying to understand whether the language I bolded from the T&C's really means what I think I'm reading: if I book 2 (paid) rooms in my name for a 5 day stay, both of them will be upgraded to suites (subject to availability) and it will only cost me a single diamond suite upgrade award? Has anyone had any experience with this situation?

I read it to say one room upgrade per award, not two rooms.

HR Cambridge MA

1. HR Cambridge
2. University Suite (Tufts)
3. 1100 sf
4. 1 bd/1b
5. Were you happy with the upgrade? Y, would give it a A
6. Huge newly renovated suite overlooking the Charles river. Did not have too much time to enjoy this very nice room, but noticed that the room had a fridge, nespresso machine with 4~5 different coffee types, dining table, sofa, 2 LG flat screen TVs (42' (?)). I could have had a 10 person party quite comfortably in this suite. Bedroom and bathroom was nice as well. 2 shower heads over tub. Although the hotel is is a walking distance from anything, they provide free shuttle service (first come first serve) to several locations around Cambridge.

Me too. I'm confident it means that you can upgrade only one room, per stay, to a suite using a Diamond confirmed upgrade, regardless of the number of rooms you have booked during that stay, or the number of suite upgrades you might have available -- it's one upgrade per stay, period.

I have, however, used a Diamond Suite Upgrade cert and use points concurrently on 2 rooms with different reservation numbers during the same period.

Ah, ok - makes sense. Multiple suites for a single award coupon seems a little rich (and who needs more than one suite, anyway).

You burnt a suite upgrade certificate but did not get a change to partake?
