Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

2. Suite type (and link of room from hyatt.com individual property page if possible)
3. # of Sq Ft
4. # of Bedrooms (Studio/Jr/1/2) and # of Bathrooms (1/1.5/2)
5. Were you happy with the upgrade? What grade would you give it (A/B/C/D/F)
6. Any other info (location/view/relative price vs normal rooms/etc) and pics if you want.
1. Washington DC Grand Hyatt
2. Grand Suite. I found ours to be larger and more modern than the one listed on the website. http://www.grandwashington.hyatt.com...ropVirtualTour

3. approx 800 sq ft.
4. 1BR/1.5 BA. Separate living room and dining room areas + half bath in living area. 1 k connected BR with desk, dressing area, large multi closet, separate jet tub/stall shower w/ double sink in bath, plus a 15" tv in the master BR. Jet tub did not work despite 2 calls down for maintenance assistance .
5. A -. Only reason for the "-", multiple cigarette butts on 2 patios, and needs a microwave in the suite, along with the tub not working.
6. Enjoyed the stay. Daniel, VIP mgr, was a great help in securing this suite versus a conference suite. In addition to the above, we had a second room (2db) connected for our children. The executive lounge was a little disappointing. My first stay at this property was about 6 years ago. At the time, the presentation at this lounge was out of this world, one I bragged about for years. Now there is nothing hot, PERIOD. It was the same material both nights I was here. To be noted, the evening desserts are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Great apple pastry, cheesecake and cannoli, thank you pastry chef Julie. Booking the AAA breakfast rate allowed us to enjoy a GREAT breakfast buffet in the restaurant.

Grand Hyatt Shenzhen

1. Grand Hyatt Shenzhen
2. Apartment - one bedroom #3110 http://www.shenzhen.grand.hyatt.com/...cale=&start=11
3. 90 sq ft
4. 1 Bedroom with 1.5 Bathrooms
5. Extremely happy, very nice and spacious. A++.
6. The Diamond Suite Upgrade booked into the Grand Suite King, however at check in I was informed that they did not have a Grand Suite King available and had allocated me a "One Bedroom Apartment", which the agent assured me was as nice as the Grand Suite King. Indeed, it was very nice and very spacious, with very large living and dining areas, a kitchenette with full size fridge, oven, stove, and espresso maker. Both the bed and bath rooms were oversized. Definitely the best Diamond Upgrade Suite I had so far.

1. Park Hyatt Chicago
2. Park Executive Suite (this is actually one level above their normal Park Suite). The link is for the Park Suite
3. 900 sq ft
4. 1 Bedroom with 1.5 Bathrooms
5. Very impressed. The phrase "I could totally imagine living here" came out a number of times. A (should be A+, but one really annoying issue)
6. Excellent view of the lake/Water Tower from both living room and bedroom, plus comfy seating right by the windows. Beautiful wood floors, leather sofa in living room. Nespresso in the living room, along with a B&O system - although I wasn't able to figure out how to use my iPod with it! Diamond amenity of a bottle of wine and a small cheese plate was excellent. Candles for soaking tub are a very nice touch. The executive suite is MUCH nicer looking than the park suite (from the pictures online).

Only one annoying issue: I had a problem with my iron, so I couldn't iron my clothes before going out! I asked downstairs about getting a replacement, but I don't think a replacement was sent! (I would have liked to figure out how to use the B&O system, but that's another issue).

1. Andaz Liverpool Street
2. Andaz Suite
http://london.liverpoolstreet.andaz....ocale=&start=6
3. 49 sq meters, sub par 500 sq ft?
4. 1 Bedroom and 1 Bathrooms
5. B- Grade, got what I expected, but the design of the hotel had the living room past the bedroom. A waste of an living room space for me
6. View was of Liverpool Street, wouldn't burn an upgrade for this place and not for this suite. They originally failed to process my award and paid reservation correctly so it took awhile to get this original room.

Was upgraded the 2nd night due to a lingering cigarette smoke issues after coming back in the afternoon

2. Andaz Large Suite
http://london.liverpoolstreet.andaz....ocale=&start=7
3. 54 sq meters, sub par 550 sq ft?, room felt like closer to 650 feet
4. Studio and 1 Bathrooms
5. A Grade, love this open design of the room with high ceiling
6. View was also of Liverpool Street, would definitely burn an upgrade for this room, bed was a regular king instead of the super king in the Andaz Suite.

No room or suite is configured the same way in this hotel so I would try to ask them to show you a couple if possible and remember the room you liked the best

My Trip report of my stay down below.

1. Andaz Wall Street
2. Buttonwood Suite
http://newyork.wallstreet.andaz.hyat...ocale=&start=8
3. 1465 square feet
4. 1 Bedroom and 1.5 Bathrooms (1/1.5/2)
5. A+ Grade, I've stay at this place a few times and this place definitely keeps a history of your stays. I was noted as V6 the night I was staying
6. View towards Water Street with some towards Wall Street
1 King bed, 2 42 Inches TVs, 1 full bathroom with double sinks in the bedroom, .5 bathroom out in the hallway, 3 sets of couches with a 10 person dining table and a small kitchen around the far side of the suite

What a "Suite/Sweet" life of mine!
Now I hope I can get this suite again for my b-day, you can put a 30 person party in there if you want. BYOB and sleeping bags!

1. Hyatt Regency Montreal
2. Executive Suite
http://montreal.hyatt.com/hyatt/hote...ocale=&start=8
3. 300 Square Feet
4. 1 Bedroom and 2 Bathrooms
5. C-, this parlor was the same size as a regular room. Very underwhelming at best
6. I only got this as a quick getaway and only because I needed to burn Suites upgrades before 2/28, can't see myself wanting to stay at this property. Regency club was in the Presidental Suite due to renovation. The hallways in this property needs a huge touch-up. Even HR Wichita in better this property

1. Hyatt Regency Boston Harborside
2. Junior Suite
http://harborside.hyatt.com/hyatt/ho...ocale=&start=9
3. 525 Square Feet
4. 1 Bedroom and 2 Bathrooms
5. B Grade, got what I expected. The parlor side was a bit bigger than the suite I got in Montreal which was great.
6. Both bedroom and parlor had a full view of the Boston skyline which was fabolous, the only regret here was that the parlor side window did not fully extend fully across the room so you can't see the skyline and sit on the couch at the same time

Multiple observations in the hotel master thread confirm this observation, and common FT wisdom says "check with the desk when you check in..." which, of course, I will do. But...

I would rather get some value out of these certificates than none, so I'm asking whether anyone has had any luck (or even tried) to use them just to guarantee a good room upgrade?
I haven't used them at HR Tokyo but I was able to get a guaranteed suite at GH DFW when I had one to burn.
