Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

Hyatt on the Bund Shanghai

1. Hyatt on the Bund Shanghai
2. Bund Suite King
3. 80 square metres.
4. 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom. There aren't doors but the bedroom is separate from the living area.*
5. A+. Very happy.
6. An extremely well appointed suite with very nice views. It even comes with its own telescope! I have a number of photos but, sadly, I have no idea how to post them!

* Correction - the bedroom does have doors that separate it from the bathroom and the living room.

HR Waikiki-UPG jackpot

HR Waikiki on AAA ($135/nt so $240 total out of pocket for the 2 nights after the Costco cert deal) and confirm showed a "Parlor Room"
Received the Uluniu Suite (room 3965) and full breakfasts at the Terrace Lounge and of course Club access. (The food Sat night was sandwiches, vege, cheese, crackers. Premium drinks though.)
One bedroom, living room, dining room, wet bar, second bath room, larger than the Regency Club nearby.
Espresso maker, coffee maker, refrig, 3 decks, chaise lounges on the bedroom deck. The master bath has 12' of stone vanity top, though the bath and shower are pretty standard. Plenty of closet (total of 16' between the two closets,) should have brought something more to wear than swim suits, shorts and t-shirts. The closet looks a little empty
Apparent the tsunami warning scared off some as UA held us in LA (couldn't get the SFO-HNL nonstop) for 2 hours so that we wouldn't be more than half way to HI before the tsunami was to have hit, so we could turn around and return to LAX. That would have been interesting.
Excellent!!!!

I think the bigger suites are particularly possible for these upgrades when you're not there for very many nights. For example, the two-night stay rbAA describes.

My last stay on a Diamond upgrade, for 8 nights, I know the agent was trying to move me into one of these larger suites in trying to overcome a problem with two beds vs. one bed in the suite I was given, but management wouldn't have it. My only option ended up being to stay in the two-bed suite, or downgrade.

I think anyone staying at the HR Waikiki on a Diamond upgrade should work under the assumption (particularly if they're there for several nights), that you will be in an ocean-facing suite in the Ewa Tower. The Regency Club is in the Diamond Head Tower.

This will be less of an issue if/when the RC moves downstairs near the restaurant, but for now, the trip from the top of Ewa Tower, across the shopping mall, and up to the top of the Diamond Head Tower, just isn't worth it my my view. You'll already have a fantastic ocean-front view, so there's no reason to go to the club for that. And personally, I just don't find the offerings in the club to be worth the effort and time to get there. Others, however, love that club and the people who work there. It's no doubt sacrilege to say, but I've never experienced the attraction.

It is indeed a typical benefit for most of the regular suites at Hyatt International properties.

It is? I'd be interested in hearing what properties provide this.

I think it's only some of the German properties - not including Mainz.

You don't get it in Hamburg either. But in Berlin and Cologne you have a free mini bar.

I just checked into this same property for a 4night stay about 15minutes ago, and got a similar upgrade.
Think is one suite level lower, since only have 1bathroom.
Not an amazingly nice room, but certainly is large - 500-600sqft.
Also got free bfast & club access.

Last year I couldn't find a single property to take my diamond suite upgrades, so am pretty pleased with this.

GH Singapore

Why is that I never seem to be able to use an upgrade certificate with the GH Singapore? No suites are available? Do they only upgrade to juniour suites?
I find this really annoying.
The last times I've been in SGP I've stayed at the IC and as a Platinum Ambassador was upgraded to Shophouse suites.

Andaz West Hollywood

1. Andaz West Hollywood
2. Corner Andaz Suite King
3. 800 sq. ft
4. 1 king bedroom, 2 full bathrooms, living room w/high dining table for 6, and glass enclosed reading area with city and sunset views
5. A

Got fully comped breakfast in the restaurant and given $50 credit for room service (though had to fight for it). I was originally told this hotel didn't accept the suite certificates, but called back and got an agent who was indeed able to confirm. Highly recommend.

Fisherman's Wharf - San Francisco

1. Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf
2. Executive Suite http://fishermanswharf.hyatt.com/hya...cale=&start=11
3. 400 sq feet
4. King bedroom with door, spacious living room (no dining table), 1 bathroom (2 sinks and normal tub/shower), no robes, floor-to-ceiling windows in both rooms, corner location with okay view
5. B+

Had a suite upgrade to use the day before it expired. Suite was nice, in my opinion, due to the floor-to-ceiling windows which encompassed a good portion of the wall space in both rooms. Although, the downside to all those windows was you had to manually close in the p.m. & open in the a.m. blinds for 15 windows! Decor looked like it had been updated recently, walls were an ice blue/gray color with brown accents. View was as good as could be expected due to location and the fact this HR is only 5 (I think) stories high; so mainly a view of neighboring stores and a slight glimpse of the bay in the distance.
