Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

They put you on the lowest floor and didn't even bothered to offer you the Opera King Deluxe room? If they get away with that, you will be very welcome to stay there again. I find that unacceptable for a Suite Upgrade.

Actually, I prefer the Opera King Deluxe over the Premier Suite:

- let's say 75sqm or 73sqm doesn't make a hell of a difference
- OKD is one room (Junior Suite) while PS has a separate living room
- OKD has a full frontal opera view
- PS has only City view

After looking at all the rooms at PH Sydney on hyatt.com, I would say this room he got was fair game for a Suite upgrade. It's 50%+ larger than the standard rooms. Who knows how many Premier Suites they even have, plus this room is about the exact same size as the Premier Suite. I don't think I'd complain if I got this as a Confirmed Suite Upgrade, but that's just me.

Edited to add: I intially thought the exact same thing as the 2 posters I have quoted, which is why I decided to look at all the PH Sydney room types. After seeing them all, I decided this was a perfectly fair Suite Upgrade IMHO.

Have you ever stayed at this hotel or used a suite upgrade there? The contradictions between your posts is quite funny. My room was larger than both the OKD and Premier Suite and I had "full frontal" of the opera house. I give the upgrade an "A", your sense of entitlement might give it a "B-".

It only has 2 or 3 floors, anyway? I used to work there in a life, long, long ago. It is a gorgeous hotel and because of its status is not a corporate hotel which gives it a exclusive, luxury feel.

a couple of new ones

1. Hyatt Regency Istanbul

2. Regency Suite King

3. 80 sq m

4. living/dining room w. workspace, king bedroom, bathroom

Have been here before a couple of years ago when a peon in GP - now a diamond and looking forward to it

Room as described, huge bathroom with 1/2 bath by suite entrance - only downside really is a loooong walk to the elevator.
also

1. Hyatt Regency Birmingham UK

2. listed in my reservations as 'club deluxe king' which doesn't appear on the hotel website, description seems to tally with Junior Suite

3. 56 sq m

4. open plan lounge/bedroom, bathroom

Will be travelling with Mrs Mac and mini-Mac, would really appreciate a proper one-bedroom suite for mini-Mac to sleep separately to us. Is it worth calling with the Diamond line or the hotel direct to see if we can get a full executive suite ?

Both stays in December, will update with feedback post.

I'd definitely ask, and explain why it is important to you. There is no downside to asking; they arent going to take back the upgrade you currently hold.

I have found that the Diamond line will put in a higher category suite upgrade request for the property to consider at check-in.

I am arriving at the PHS this Saturday for my fourth stay. I have used Suite Upgrades there and have stayed at both OKD and the Premier Suite. There is no room category that is larger than those two types other than the Specialty Suites of which most have no Opera view or no full frontal opera view. Not sure what room you stayed at but I would suspect that you actually stayed at the Opera King Deluxe...

Has anyone ever stayed at the Hyatt Wakiki and used a Diamond Confirmed upgrade?

What room did you get?

I called and they said that the Deluxe room wasn't available for the upgrade, yet it was available for sale --- does this happen a lot?

Thanks!

I have stayed in the suite in the diamond head tower using the diamond upgrade. I believe there are identical suites on the 33rd and 34th floor. The only difference is there are queen beds in one suite and a king size bed in the other. The suites are the same as the description in post 37 describing the suite in the Ewa tower.

I stayed at the HR Waikiki Oct 27-Nov 1 on AAA rate, called the hotel direct a few days before arrival to confirm suite as it was not showing in reservations at Hyatt.com, was told they had blocked 3359, which is the oceanfront suite mentioned above. Upon arrival, a FOM came out of the office to tell me that since the hotel was 100% sold out, I was being upgraded to 4060, which is one of the presidential suites.(Her comment was that is is never done, but..) This was my best upgrade ever outside of Las Vegas. I was able to use the $150 resort credit, the G2 bonus as well as receiving 4 breakfast vouchers per day, and I was alone. It was hard to check out.

Downside to the upgrades was that GH BKK managed to mangle up both stay postings by cosnidering it an award and only crediting incidentals. Kind of makes you wonder as the folio clearly showed that I had paid lots of THB for the room too.

I called them up and asked the GP rep they have onsite in the hotel what she did and she still didn't get it. Clueless bunch. Oh and the Club lounge staff presented me my first bill with a full charge for the suite not considering I had used the upgade cert. Otherwsie they are nice enough though, just a bit sloppy I guess.

Suite Upgrade Voucher / New Diamond benefit

Hey Guys - didn't want to start a new thread so I thought I ask the question here.

I got a Voucher for a suite upgrade which will expire the end of the year. While checking the locations on the Hyatt website I noticed some new benefits for Diamond members and one of them is:

Treat yourself to a suite upgrade at time of reservation four times annually on paid room nights (new)

So does this mean you get a confirmed suite upgrade when you make a normal reservation? If this is the case I won't risk the chance of using the voucher and not getting the upgrade?
