Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

Report #1 - January 2014

1. Hyatt Incline Village
2.
http://laketahoe.hyatt.com/en/hotel/rooms/suite.html
4. 1 bedroom suite is actually 2 normal sized connecting rooms - each with 2 full bathroom. "Living room" has a full pull out couch and table for eating; bedroom has king bed.
5. A- Excellent, except for view
6. Great choice for families and on the same elevator bank as exec lounge and casino. Not so good if you want views of the lake.

Report #2 - May 2014

1. Hyatt Hakone Resort, Japan
2. Regency Suite Twin - #306
http://hakone.regency.hyatt.com/en/h...oms/suite.html
4. Massive living room with L couch and separate bedroom with awesome view and sunroom. #306 is the best room in the hotel.
5. A+ Excellent - best room in the hotel!
6. Very pricey hotel ($350/nt+) but you won't complain about the suites.

Report #3 - December 2014

1. Andaz 5th Avenue, NYC
2. Andaz splash suite
3. 737
4. 1 Bedroom and 1 of Bathroom, plus large living room with long wide sofa (suitable for sleeping) and multiple closet / tub
5. B - reasonable
6. Actual room was larger than anything I've ever seen in NYC, and quite reasonable for the P+C price (12k+$150/nt). However I don't like the bathroom (no door on toilet stall, idiotic shower controls) and as others have noted the noise from suites facing 5th Ave is higher than other locations. Unfortunately all Splash suites occupy the same location. See my review for further details.

1. Park Hyatt Siem Reap
2. Park Suite King
3. 760 sqft
4. 1 bedroom, 1.5 baths
5. The suite felt larger than the advertised 760 sqft, with a powder room, pantry and large walk-in closet. We loved the design of the room - contemporary without being bland, one of our favorite base suites. A+

1. Grand Hyatt Hong Kong
2. Grand Executive Harbor Suite
3. 970 sqft
4. 1 bedroom, 1.5 baths
5. The hotel was sold out over the NYE period, and at check-in, we found out our DSU had been bumped up to the Grand Executive Harbor Suite. Amazing view aside, the renovation and the suite are incredible - very contemporary with both eastern and western touches, just like HK itself. The room was perfect for entertaining, so much so that we changed our NYE plans to entertain in - fireworks were in direct view! A+++

They don't want my DSU

I have booked a room with cash and points and applied a DSU to it, however, they have not taken the DSU from my account. The confirmation email was correct and it shows the correct room on Hyatt.com. Do I need to contact Hyatt, or will this be okay? Has anybody experienced something similar?

I tried to apply a DSU to a points and cash booking. The rep did confirm that the suite upgrade was available, but when she inquired further there's apparently two different categories for suite upgrades - one for P+C bookings and one for regular bookings. A bit bummed that it's apparently the case...

Shouldn't be.... I also thought that inventory was different, but there was a confirmation from the GP concierge (sometime in July I believe) that there should be no difference.

I have in fact gotten my DSU applied, but not taken off from my account. It happens. Cross your fingers.

Happened to me too. I used two DSU's at the Andaz in Amsterdam to book two suites. They were never taken from my account, but my family spent several nights in two very nice suites!

GH New York - confirmed into Junior Suite, but got upgraded into the VIP Suite. It's basically two connected rooms. The decor was a bit dated, but very large and open.

A junior type suite. I do not believe any of their suites have a wall.

Just asked to apply a DSU to PH chicago and was told the hotel does not participate in this program?

I thought this was their flagship? Anyone else had this response?

hang up and try again would be your best bet. hotel participates in DSU, maybe no suites available for your stay.

Hyatt Regency Austin TX
Executive Suite
2 connecting rooms
Dated decor, great view of downtown Austin.
Lots of service problems at this hotel. Just mentioned a few of the many in order to alert them to what my experience was, and was given 15000 points and was only charged for 2 nights instead of 3.
