Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

My apologies if this has been asked before; I was not able to find it on a search -

When you cancel a reservation with a DSU and want the DSU to be redeposited, do you need to call Diamond line to make this cancellation and explicitly request the redeposit? If you just cancel the reservation online, does the DSU redeposit automatically?

Its automatic, may take a few hours though but for me its almost instantaneous just log out and back in.

Sometimes it does not show up, so I call. The CSR will not see it in my acct when I go to use it and I would need to tell him/her where I cancelled it from.

I got it in the end. When I checked-in to the hotel there was no mention of it not being available for the first night.

1. Hyatt Regency Minneapolis
2. Executive Suite
3. 650 sq ft
4. 1 BR/1BA, Living Area
5. C. Room was a long rectangle. A large area, but the living area had no windows so it was a bit dark and depressing.
6. Staff is very nice and helpful. Regency club here is tiny.

HR Birmingham, UK

1. HR Birmingham
2. Club deluxe king
3. 56 sq m, apparently
4. Contrary to the photo on the website, following the renovations in summer 2014 this is now a 'proper' suite, with a wall and door inbetween the living room and bedroom. Getting rid of the big desk/unit between the two rooms actually makes the space seem bigger - I'm not crazy about the new colour scheme but it's a nice suite
5. B
6. I forget what 6 is for. I've posted a short note also in the hotel review thread. Good stay.

Anyone use a DSU at Andaz Amsterdam? Do you know what kind of suite you get? Thanks!

PH Chicago is a bit aggravating for DSU's - they UG you to a Grand Executive Suite or nothing at all, even if park suite is available. And there are not so many Grand Executive Suites to be had. It leaves me to wonder whether they are trying to avoid DSU's by designating a low-availability category as the DSU category.

I did manage an upgrade to a Grand Executive Suite this past weekend, and it was truly pleasant - a distinct separate bedroom with excellent bath, and a living room with wet bar and powder room. The only thing I did not completely like was the flow - the was obviously a successor to what was once two separate rooms, and the living room felt like a hotel room which had been converted rather than a real living room.

Grand Hyatt Hong Kong

Grand Hyatt Hong Kong: DSU to Ambassador Suite (Garden View, some harbor view) Great suite, wonderful staff. Used points and cash for the reservation, combined with the DSU. Had to call three times to get a rep who was helpful in figuring it out.

Hyatt Regency Chicago

I got a confirmed upgrade for a week on a AAA rate to:

Room(s) Booked: JR CITY VW SUITE

Room Description: Lrg parlor with 1 Kng Grand bed:Sitting area: Oversize couch:Lrg desk:Plasma tv

I'm currently in the room now. It's nice, but the bathroom is rather small. I have a great view of the city and the river. It's only on the 10th floor though, I wish it was higher.

I really like the Regency Club here!

Gad to know some of the "jr suites" have decent views. I have always been stuck with rooms which face Lake st (towards the loop). Since I have always been disappointed with the room and the view I gave up on DSUs at the HR.

I have generally been pleased with the standard diamond rooms (usually great views) despite the older baths (no shower stall).

Good timing...they just finished the lounge renovation and double the visual/functional space.

Agree that there do a good job upgrading Diamond members to a room with a great view

I presume this was a further upgrade at check in?
