Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

You should be able to do at check in, if front Desk can't do it, just call Hyatt Diamond line

i believe once you check in there is no way for HGP to adjust the reservation. however, the hotel should be able to handle if they'll allow it. i've had done this twice.

Tried to apply DSU for my July stay at PH Seoul, and was told not available for P+C stay, but if our stay was all cash, they can upgrade. Call twice, first agent directly said it can't use on P+C stay at all. The second agent was quite nice, even tried to call the hotel directly, but still get same answer that only work for all cash stay. Remember read some complaining about upgrade at GH Taipei, is it usual that Asian hotels are stingy about upgrades?

You should be able to use diamond suite update certificate on points and cash as long as hotel is participating and one of lowest category suites are available.

I guess there is no clear definition for "available"? I checked on website, the suite is available to book with cash. What surprised me is hotel manager rejected a request from corporate and insist it's for CASH stay only....

I think I've seen some post already that suggest there is indeed a difference between availability for awards/cash and P+C. The P+C award availability is more limited.

So it would not be that big a stretch if that's also the case for P+C + DSU. On the few reservations I have made there was a specific rate code for "P+C + DSU" so that would support that theory.

Maybe if you PM the GP Concierge here to get a better answer.

Yes, both need to be on one booking.

Are you sure that that is the case? GP has often combined several bookings into one for the use of a DSU in the past, so why would they have a problem with applying a DSU to each of two separate bookings?

You are right.... what I meant was booked from the same (Diamond) member account, and the member needs to occupy one of the rooms.
That's what I was told is what it takes to apply 2 upgrades at the same time. Only then can you "transfer" the DSU to someone else.

Used DSU on Park Hyatt Tokyo, and got it, but updated confirmation now shows new price for the stay (old price 39k yen, new one 136k yen)... Hyatt GP e-mail team keeps telling me that all is ok, but I see new, high price on Hyatt web page... what to do?

I had the exact same issue last week, got a BRG approved but when I applied the DSU it reverted to the daily rate. Took two tweets to hyatt and they fixed the issue.

1. Hyatt Regency Sha Tin Hong Kong, booked entirely with miles through useaamiles.com (AAdvantage elite members get a discount)
2. Upgraded to Regency King Suite
3. Upgrade included access to Regency Club Lounge, insuring that I was well fed throughout my stay.
4. Nevertheless, I did spring for the duck in the hotel restaurant (it was well reviewed), so I could rack up some points (hotels booked using miles are usually ineligible for points earning or elite stay credit).
