Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

I must say while very much I appreciate the confirmed part of all this (knowing in advance that I am upgraded) which beats the Starwood way of making me wait until 5 days prior and isn't confirmed/guaranteed (via SNAs) I do not like the need to call Hyatt and wait on hold for 10 minutes while the upgrade is applied. Had to do while traveling and Skype kept cutting out and had to start process all over again. Another 10 minutes. I get that these are worked out directly with the hotel thus the call is required - but when traveling and using Skype it makes the experience somewhat frustrating. But hey, at least it ultimately worked! Looking forward to my first ever Hyatt stay at what I hear is a lovely property in a nice Suite.
TravelinSperry, Congratulations on redeeming a DSU at the Grand Hyatt Erawan in BKK! After your stay, it would be nice to hear about how your Hyatt Diamond experience in BKK compares to any recent SPG Plat experiences. It would be also be nice to hear from others too who currently have both SPG Plat and Hyatt Diamond comparing recent stays.

This thread has gone off topic. It is a resource for actual confirmed DSU experiences post stay. Can we please keep it as that resource and keep to the review style?

We're confirmed into this type on a DSU in Feb. Nice to hear that you rank it highly, but I thought it is supposed to have 1.5 baths.

We are in the Terrace Wing. Unlike the website description there is no dining table. I suspect there are multiple versions of the room type.

We booked late so may have received one of the different than advertised versions.

Thanks for the clarification. We'll see what we get.

Grand Suite, Grand Hyatt Jakarta

Used DSU and got the expected upgrade suite.

100 sq metre, very spacious living area but an older suite. No automation for blinds and manual curtains. Smelled like BO and must and the Sharp air cleaner didn't help a bit. No free minibar or snacks.

One powder room and full big, bathroom in the master bedroom. Whirlpool tub didn't work with probably the worst faucets I've encountered in a suite.

Rollaways are $25 extra.

Views of the 1962 Asian games statue and roundabout in Thamran.

It does. That's what I got in September and that's the inventory the Diamond line agent confirmed was required.

Not a bad suite but the two levels sounds cooler than it actually is.

If contacted directly hotel will sometimes (YMMV) confirm into the Grand Suite if there is an issue (such as mobility or small children) with the Duplex Suite.

We just confirmed one of our rooms at Hyatt Regency HKG into a suite with a DSU. Unfortunately no connecting rooms appear to be left for the second room, will be a real hassle is we cannot get that worked out.

Also tried to use one on cash+points reservations at Park Hyatt SGN a week later, but hotel is pretty much all booked. Will be the first time in 10 years staying there that we have to slum it in two regular rooms, instead of having one suite ;-) Oh well, the long breakfasts and nice pool here make up for that!

Any recent experiences getting DSU'd into a Grand Executive Suite at the Taipei Hyatt? The last one I found was back in 2010.

Just booked 2 nights at HR HB for April. I called in and had the agent apply a DSU, which he said was confirmed and that I would get an email. I have not received an email confirming a suite. I did a FT search, and apparently, it's not uncommon for people to NOT get emails yet have suites booked when they check in. When I look at my Reservations, it shows a standard room. Should I just take the agent's word for it?

I used to have this happen at U.S. properties (but not international) but then about 2 years ago it resolved itself. Suggest you call and have a confirmation e-mailed to you. Also e-mail GP and complain.

Thanks for the input.

Quick question-- will DSU work with a corporate rate?
