Big Hyatt Website / System Reliability Problems

I am currently in Hong Kong trying to make several Hyatt reservations. I first tried the website, which has given a "technical difficulties" response when a specific hotel/date is requested. It suggests I call the reservations number. When I do so, I get a rather odd recording saying that there are technical difficulties and that I should use hyatt.com or "call back in about an hour". It also offers the option of holding for assistance. When I do so, I end up on perma-hold with no answer after 20 minutes (good music on hold though!). The system has so far been inaccessible, as has the res office, for over 90 minutes.

While no system has 100 per cent up-time, Hyatt seems to have an inordinate number of problems. Worse though, is the odd way it is handled, with a generic "call back in about an hour", and the website and 800 number each suggesting the other while neither is functioning.

I am just slightly suspicious, given that it is late Saturday night, that the system is perhaps down for updates / maintenance, and/or that Omaha is closed. Unclear, but pretty bad.

I represent several owners of Hyatt properties, and think they'd be pretty grouchy to learn that they're not getting reservations services and booking capability through the website (for which they pay a pretty penny) as promised.

Has anyone else had similar problems, especially on a Saturday night?

I booked 9 nights, finishing up just about an hour ago (combination award and paid). Checking now, though, I get:

Unexpected Error
Unfortunately our booking system was unable to process your reservation request. Please try again.

If you have any questions about your reservation, please call 1-800-633-7313 in the United States and Canada. For international contact information, select the Hyatt Contact Numbers link.
It's just coming up on 0200 Omaha time on a Sunday morning which would seem to be an ideal time for web site maintenance.

Have you tried a Twitter message? I did that earlier this year when it was about 3 in the morning and they answered immediately.

Twitter and Res.

I'm obviously a technology neaderthal / Luddite, as I didn't realize that you could send twitter messages to Hyatt in regard to reservations.

Thanks for the info.

There is a long sticky thread in this forum covering hyatt website problems. Lots of posts. If you represent multiple hyatt owners, maybe have a look and approach corporate to take the problems more seriously. It's 2010 - a working website is neither rocket science nor a nice-to-have.

Actually I will be. The website /overall systems reliability is clearly below a reasonably expected level. And my most recent experience with wacky recordings suggesting to call back "in about an hour" or hold into oblivion (why should the wait time be ultra-long when the system is actually down?) seems reflective of a less than rigorous approach to the issues. Very un-Hyatt in many ways, and very unfortunate.

The website is telling me my check-out date is before my check-in date. Clearly, there is nothing wrong with my entry except the website said there is.

Having been trying for a few hours now and still not working.

Anyone having the same problem?

It seems like this is the same issue I reported almost two months ago in this thread. I'm not sure the problem has even been acknowledged by the Hyatt.com IT team.

I agree it's highly annoying to have a broken link to the property for each reservation.

It is weird thing happening on Hyatt's website this morning when going to sign in it is not my normal signing name but some body else, it is like that person hacked to my computer and use to check in at hyatt.com

Should I worried? or it is one of Hyatt's IT issue?
