Missing points on back-to-back reservations
My last 3 stays were with back-to-back reservations. E.g., for stay #1 , I had initially made a reservation for 8 nights; then I added a reservation for the following night; and then another reservation for the following 2 nights. For all 3 stays, when I checked in, the reservations were linked, and charges incurred during the stay were transferred from one reservation to another. But after I checked out, I only received points for charges incurred during the final reservation (i.e., not for charges there were transferred from one reservation to the subsequent one).
Is this a well-known issue?
You might think that, when I find out I will need to stay more nights than originally planned, the simple solution would be to cancel the initial reservation and make a new, longer one. The problem: sometimes, at that stage, there no longer are any rooms available for the original nights, so I cannot risk canceling the initial reservation...

I've done this a few times now and what happened to me was that when I completed the first booking, the points and stay credit would post normally, even though I was still staying in the hotel. Internally, the hotels charged me for the individual booked stay and made me visit the front desk to reprogram the keys, but left a note to housekeeping to tell them not to clear out my stuff in the room.
After the final booking was completed, the earlier booking's Points Earned would become 0, but it would be added onto the final booking's points and the stay count would not update, as the stays became linked into a single stay.
So I have not had any problems with this happening. If you are sure you calculated the points correctly, just file a missing points claim. You can also email them (this seems to be one of the few issues where emailing actually works) and/or contact the hotel.

I occasionally book a stay as consecutive reservations. Either because it gives me flexibility when i'm not absolutely sure of the stay length, or because the overall cost is less than a single reservation would be.
It normally works perfectly well, at check-in they have no problem grasping the situation and roll the nights together. On my account it clocks up as a single stay and the points credited represent the total spend. Just as it should be.
But a couple of rogue hotel always make a hash of it - usually in the form of only the first night, or the final night, earning points.
Missing points claim can work, but the last one i almost gave up on: HH says contact the hotel, the hotel says "can't do anything: contact HH", HH then wants copies of the bill. Success seems to depend heavily on the HH agent you deal with.

This happens to me a lot, seems like every time I have a back-to-back. Usually the last reservation credits (without the credit from the earlier one(s) being rolled in) and I have to get them to manually intervene.

Happens to me with my last stay at Conrad Singapore
1st night cash,2nd night points redemption + cash
after checkout notice the points doesnt seem to be correct so tweeted Hilton on Twitter and ask them to review by providing them copies of folio/invoice
After some investigations they found out some points adjustment is required and credited the missing points

Missing Chinese App Booking Points
Booked a few stays using the China webapp/ wechat promo but no points got credited. Spoke to several chat agents and got informed that they know nothing about this promotion and will not be honoring this. Why run a promo when no intention of honoring it? The promo referenced as below:

Missing milestone bonus points?
I'm at 90 nights YTD and have been consistently getting emails ("congratulations!") about bonus points given for every ten nights and at 60 nights. Great! However, when I check my activity those bonus points are nowhere to be seen.
I don't keep a running tally of points accumulation - is it possible those bonus points post but don't show on the activity page?
Anyone here keep a more granular tab on their points accumulation?
Jim

Stay posted with zero base points but did have per stay promo and my way points. Property apparently had a problem with credit card processing and moved charges to a new folio to bill it but didn't flow through into the account.
FDC gave the usual 'takes up to 2 weeks to post' while I was getting the new folio. Called the Diamond desk and they were able to fix the points immediately.

Hilton Honors Points not posting
Had a six day stay at a Homewood Suites. A week later the points hadn't posted. I asked why and the agent at the Lifetime Diamond desk said they no longer apply HHonors points to accounts not booked by a personal card. My business usually shows as the booking payment entity. Somewhat baffled by that, I asked to speak to a supervisor. He said there was no one above him in the call center. If true, this would mean direct billed stays will no longer accrue loyalty points. Has anyone else run across this?
