Honors Points & Missing Stays

I have noticed one of my stays at a NYC Hilton hasnt appeared in my account online or in the app.

If i call Hilton they say its there (I booked it myself) and ive been credited with the points. Im not cvertain thats true and have asked for a full statement to enable me to check - that takes 6 weeks! They didnt offer any feedback on the issue of it not appearing in my account for me to see which annoyed me a bit.

Anyway does anyone know if you request a missing stay when they add it to your account should it appear in your online acount or should it not?

I feel a long drawn out session coming on of checking my reservations this year...ughhh

I stayed in early November in Hilton Garden Inn Moscow Krasnoselskaya, my stay was not appeared in Past Stay, but it was in Cancellations.
I wrote email to diamond desk with scan copy of my bill and points were in my account in some day. So, you can check, maybe your stay is also in Cancellation, in this case you can receive your points early.

Do everything via email so there is a paper trail of your concern. The email customer care is much more frustrating than phone-based service, but again, you'll have a paper trail.

Last year, I asked for a full statement of my history and it did take about 4 weeks for them to email me a PDF file. It had every bit of activity shown and was approximately 36 pages long (5 years of history).

I've noticed recently there is a delay in activity posting. My points total will increment accordingly within 48 hours of check-out, but the actual stay will not post in my "past stay" history for at least another 48-72 hours.

Q: How to get missing 8K points towards elite tier?

Hi folks,
First of all apologies since Im pretty sure that youve seen this Q. here multiple times. I went through FAQ and used Search but unfortunately I couldnt find the answer anywhere..
So Im pretty much done with my travels for the year. Just came back from my 2 weeks business trip, got the points and got surprised with almost 116K points (with bonus). I wasnt hoping to get diamond tier for 2018 but at this point Im missing only 8K points and Im trying to figure it out, what would be the way to get those points.
- I understand that I would need to stay and pay for the stay at least $800? (Not planning any vacation this year so its a lot just to get the tier)
- Does Hilton ever offer option to buy base points that would count towards elite tier before the end of the year as the airlines for miles?
- Do I have any other options? Any suggestions?

Thank you for your help
Regards

How close are you to Diamond with total Stays or Nights? I almost always get my Diamond status on those two other measures long before I earn it on points.

(Unfortunately) You might be further away than you think.
The 125k points to get Diamond excludes bonus points from your stays.
Only the Base Points will count.
Double points, welcome points, Points & Points, credit card promos, App booking bonus, Elite bonus all do not count towards the 125000 points requirement.

Do you have the Hilton App installed.
That will clearly show your progress via stays / nights / points

Hi, yes.. I understand that only base points count and per application it shows 8K points missing to the diamond tier

In that case, you can consider spending another USD 800 (in stays) and go for Diamond.
Considering the 11.6k already spent , this is not a big figure and you would be getting back a chunk in points
For 2018, you will also be getting higher return in points
I personally have added ~1k - ~1.8k in additional spent on discretionary stays to hit Diamond but it is a personal call to make.

Hilton does not sell Elite qualifying points nor does it has room rates that bundles extra Elite qualifying points like IHG.

Thanks but probably as the most of us my stays were majority business trips. Not sure is $800 worth getting diamond from my own pocket. Airlines usually have promotions by the end of the year and they allow you to "get" the points somehow if you are missing few K.

If you have any hosting to do around the holidays use a restaurant in a Hilton property and run the bill to your room. You could use points to get the room (assuming you will be spending at least $800 on the meal), and you don't even have to sleep in the bed if home is convenient.

Hi,

Also what are your travel plans for next year? If going to some of the Asian or European properties then getting Diamond might be worthwhile in terms of upgrades and lounge access.

Most likely I will have few business trips mostly within US and probably Asia but in Asia in 9/10 cases I get access to the lounge with Gold tier. Also planning honeymoon in Rangali Maldives but there is really no difference there between Gold and Diamond
