Sounds good. (It doesn't seem to be out on DVD yet, at least not in the U.S.)

Saw a few good things at a film festival recently: Between Love and Goodbye and Watercolors. Both were much better than I expected they'd be; from the summary and trailers I thought they'd be dreadful, but they were quite well done. Tru Love was a real crowd-pleaser, with a lot of names.

Thumbs up thanks

Hi,
i just registered here to say thanks to all of you who posted here your prefered gay movies.

I have 10 movies on queue right now

In addiction, I would like to suggest those which I haven't seen here:

Goldfish Memory
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0366527/
A light-hearted look at the dangers and delights of dating in contemporary Dublin

Boy Culture
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0433350/
A successful male escort describes in a series of confessions his tangled romantic relationships with his two roommates and an older, enigmatic male client.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0476643/
Ha-Buah (The Bubble)
The movie follows a group of young friends in the city of Tel Aviv and is as much a love song to the city as it is an exploration of the claim that people in Tel Aviv are isolated from the rest of the country and the turmoil it's going through. The movie looks at young people's lives in Tel Aviv through the POVs of gays and straights, Jews and Arabs, men and women.

90 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Perhaps because I had no sympathy for any of the characters.

I actually thought that "Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds" was a lot better. I thought that the characters were given much funnier lines. Plus I love Brett Chuckerman (who plays Ryan Carnes's character in this film). His fist film "Crush" was another good gay film, although it was kind of too much in an after-school special format. I saw an interview with either the director or producer (maybe he was both) of the Eating Out series. He said that if he did a third, he would call it "Eating Out 3: Menage et Tw*t". Gotta love that! At least in concept .

Some other good films:

Sommersturm (German)
Europa, Europa (German). Has gay parts, but not really gay themed.
A Touch of Pink (British)
Wild Reeds (French)
My Forgotten Soldier (Dutch). I think that's the English title of it. I'll give the director a lot of credit for taking on such a taboo subject.

And although it's not a film or movie, the German channel Das Erste has a evening series called "Verbotene Liebe". And one of the story lines includes this gay character couple 'Christian and Oliver'. Their story lines are somewhat predictable. But if you didn't know any better, you'd think that these two were actually in love with each other in real life. The physical scenes between these two are like none other that I have seen on TV. Plus, they're both really hot, especially Christian (Thore Schoelemann).Definitely nothing like "Will and Grace". So they get a ^^!

Yossi & Jagger was great.

The same producer is producing this great new musical series on Israeli TV, involving gay guys, drag queens.

Thank you! I remember these guys from when I first moved to Germany in 2001 - I think. They were on then, right? They are totally hot. ^

Gaudi Afternoon

Not the best, certainly, but lots of twists and turns, and great location shots of Barcelona

Some I will watch again:

Adam and Steve
Angels in America
Another Country
Bad Education
Beautiful Thing
Brokeback Mountain
Far From Heaven
Heights (did anyone mention this)
I Think I do
Latter Days
Longtime Companion
The Lost Language of Cranes
Ludwig
Milk
My Beautiful Launderette
Parting Glances
Presque Rien
Shelter
The Talented Mr Ripley
Trick

Maybe not all 'gay' movies, but certainly those that are not always categorised as such have gay cores.

Which One is Worse?

I agree completely. One of the most boring and insipid movies I have ever viewed (gay or straight).

When you get to the end, the only question that can be asked about "Boy Culture" is whether this movie is even worse than "Sex, Politics & Cocktails." I submit that "Boy Culture" is marginally better, because "Sex, Politics & Cocktails" has a "perfect low score" of 0% on rottentomatoes.com. An unheralded triumph for the worst gay movie ever. How "Boy Culture" then gets 70% is a greater mystery, but there is no accounting for taste. I realize I am in the minority, but I was in the minority in 2007 when it came to pulling my money out of the stock market as well.

If you are talking about gay movies released since 2000, my favorite would have to be "Latter Days." Excellent script, acting, and being able to identify with genuine characters (instead of stereotypes). Even the most jaded among us can get involved with the two lead characters.
