A Swedish movie I saw at the film festival this year, Patrik Age 1,5 was pretty good. Its about a couple that think that they're adopting an 18 month old, but because of a typo, what they get is an angry homophobic 15 year old. It didn't get too cliched.
Sounds good. (It doesn't seem to be out on DVD yet, at least not in the U.S.)
Saw a few good things at a film festival recently:
Between Love and Goodbye and
Watercolors. Both were much better than I expected they'd be; from the summary and trailers I thought they'd be dreadful, but they were quite well done.
Tru Love was a real crowd-pleaser, with a lot of names.
