I will be more specific. I got good use of the French pass while in Rome. That trip ended 10/6/21 and I leave for ATH on 10/28/21 with a return date of 11/4/21.
I already have the third Pfizer booster shot which was recorded in my pass. So the consensus is that I can still use the QR codes for restaurants in Athens and Thessaloniki, right?

Try downloading the Greek covid vaccination pass scanner app and scanning your QR code. If the Greek app doesn't work on your phone, try a different country's app. The Dutch app works on my (US-based) phone. (These links are for Android, just google the app name for the Apple version.)

Great. I found the iP app, but for the moment cannot find a way to move from Greek to English in the app.
In the same lineup, I see Re-open EU, Passe Covid, and CovidPassEu

Italy accepts CDC card, so no concern there.

Thanks. It looks like both worked for myself and Mrs. Majuki. The Greek one shows one's first and last name but no DOB. The Dutch app only shows the first and last initials and day and month (but not year) of birth.

Right, the scanner apps are supposed to give the person using it enough personal details to verify that the person bearing the QR code is the person named in the QR code (by checking the bearer's ID), but not enough to violate the bearer's privacy. Kind of stupid that the scanner apps don't show full details, if you think about it, because all those details would be on the ID that is supposed to be checked.

But we already know that there is little that is logical about this whole thing.

Indeed.

However, it's good to know ours come up as valid on both the Greek and Dutch apps. There was a data point a few days about about someone having problems in the Netherlands with the French issued code.

How does one save the QR code in the Greek app?

Actually they got their code by somehow coverting their UK NHS code into a French code, which I think is a different process from the one where you upload your CDC card in the middle of the night (US time). The Dutch scanner app reads the French QR code I generated this way perfectly fine.

I didn't try saving it within the app. I just had a PDF on my computer (and a copy on my phone).

I overlooked the detail that it was NHS documentation. I think we should be fine if two different country apps read the codes correctly. When I actually go next month I'll have some real world data points.

I have no problem getting the Greek app to recognize the French QR code.
However, after I completed the Greek plf form this morning, the Greek app - Covid Free GR - always rejects their own QR code. How does one resolve such a conflict?

kerouac2 Oct 18, 2021 12:40 pm

All QR codes generated in the EU are supposed to be valid in every other EU country (also valid in the UK, by the way).

Probably because the QR code on the Greek PLF is not a European Covid Vaccination Certificate. It's a QR code that contains the data in your PLF, so it has a different format. (I'm guessing here.)

In the process of applying. Didn’t buy the flight out of France yet, wondering if anyone was able to get approved for the pass without a departing flight uploaded.

Datapoint: Applied for 7 passes from the same email, had each application ready to go earlier in the day and hit submit on each one at 6:05am Paris Time. After 30 minutes not one was approved, at 6:35am I re-did each one every few minutes, and each one was approved shortly after.
