Was it the request for a pièce d'identité or the blood sample? :D

What is France's approach to vaccinations with kids age 5-11? Have any vaccines been approved for that age group? If so, are they likely to make the pass sanitaire applicable to kids as young as 5 anytime soon? We have a family trip to France in January and I'm hoping I can reuse QR codes for me and my wife from a trip last month and not have to deal with any vaccine requirements for our 5 year old.

Just arrived in Paris. Found a pharmacy across from Hotel du Louvre. Provided passport and CDC cards. Paid 36€ and received my pass within minutes. Very easy.
I am traveling from the USA next month. I was planning to get the QR code in advance, but that doesn't seem possible anymore. Do you have to show proof of vaccination to board a plane from USA, or at arrival at CDG? If yes, will my CDC card suffice for this? |

Do they take into account detailed information, such as vaccine lot number when converting to QR code?
Or it's just vaccine brand and the dates? |

No and no, so you're OK.
CDC card is sufficient. Then once in France, go to a pharmacy to convert your CDC card to EU QR code. Details here + list of pharmacies who are doing it https://www.sante.fr/how-to-obtain-a-french-health-pass |

Before I potentially flush 36 euros down the drain are there any reports on how much the pass is even needed in lieu of just flashing your CDC card at restaurants, museums, bars, etc?

Well, well, well!
Macron spoke to the nation a couple of hours ago and said that a pass sanitaire held by anyone 65 or over will expire on December 15 unless proof of a third dose is uploaded by that date. While it's hard for me to believe that that will actually happen on only five weeks' notice, I certainly haven't seen anything implying that it won't happen either. I'd like to get more color on this over the coming days. The relevant part of his speech was maybe 15 seconds, with zero detail. The word he used was "conditioned." The implication was that a third dose is needed for continued validity. I don't think he meant "new applications only." It will be interesting to see further clarification, though. Edit: LCI says this: "À partir du 15 décembre, le maintien du pass sanitaire conditionné à la 3e dose pour les plus de 65 ans," which I guess does mean "expiration." And, yes, a CDC card should work everywhere in big-time tourist spots like Paris -- at least if this thread is to believed. One Mile at a Time, too. |

The actual rule for the senior booster is that as of 15 December, we will have 5 weeks after out 6-month deadline to get the 3rd shot. For example, I am not eligible for my booster until the beginning of January, so I will have until some time during the month of February to get my shot and my pass sanitaire will remain valid in the meantime. It is quite true that the details were lacking from Macron's speech yesterday.

Does it mean that Canadians between age 65 and 70 where a 3rd dose is simply not offered under 70 ( like in Quebec) just won’t be able to get a French pass sanitaire?

Has anyone tried to update their pass yet? I am curious as to whether it can be done online or will require a visit to a pharmacy?
Whether I ever get the PASS is a different issue; I believe my application just got into their system before the "freeze" for on-line applications. |

On Oct. 26 I applied for a PASS, my application is still "in progress", so I was able to update my application--I uploaded my CDC card which (now) shows 2 primary Pfizers AND one BOOSTER.
