I got my UK vaccines into the French system this morning at the local pharmacy in the countryside, but they were my pharmacy a long time ago and I know them reasonably well. The guy doing it is a bit geeky and was having none of it after a couple of failures, but I don't know if he changed anything. He said he followed the instructions at post #144 in this thread to the letter. I now have the paper and managed to get the QR code into the French app (verified).
(for travellers from other countries, the full list of country codes is available here: https://www.insee.fr/fr/information/2028273 - this is to replace the 99063 which is for the United States by the code for the country which provided your vaccine). |
Anyway, the law was approved yesterday by both legislative assemblies. However, it will not be scrutinized by the constutional council until August 5th for anything they might find anomalous.
In the good news department, shopping malls will not require the pass. However, the Senate had voted to not require the pass for outdoor seating at cafés and restaurants, and they had to give in for this -- it will be required in all areas. (That makes sense because outdoor customers would not be able to use the restrooms if they were not pre-approved.) The automatic fine for establishments not checking everyone has been abandoned, so some of them are sure to let in the unvaccinated at least at first, but the government has retained the right to force an administrative closure the moment they get caught with a violation (and that costs them a lot more than a simple fine). |

Successfully received Pass Sanitaire (French health pass) in under 10 minutes at Pharmacie Place de l’ Opera. The cost is 20 Euros per person. Bring your CDC vaccination card and passport. An extremely nice English speaking pharmacist helped us!
We were completely fine with the price considering she immediately knew what to do and this is a major convenience for the rest of the trip. Highly recommend. |

Unfortunately we will be nowhere near Paris in Provence, so I'm curious how you found this pharmacy? Were they advertising somehow or was it dumb luck? |

Agreed, I would happily pay 20 EUR just to be done with the whole ordeal. It's money well spent not having to worry about going to a dozen different pharmacies before finding one that can do it.

Saw it in YouTube video from a fellow named Jay Swanson. Apparently, this pharmacy is where US Embassy staff have been going to get their French pass. Go figure…

Slightly off-topic:
A question for FTers that has their foreign jab successfully converted into the French system: did your certificate included a Jab/lot number? I was vaccinated in Greece but will need to have my vaccine recognized by the French system (as I’m a French national). For now I can obviously do with the EU Green Pass. But once I’m back in France, I don’t want to have to go back to Greece to collect the proof of vaccination. Impossible to get a lot number for the vaccine in Greece - so any feedback greatly appreciated. |
Tweet from a French official mentioning that "a new procedure to obtain the Pass Sanitaire will be launched on August 2nd for ALL persons vaccinated outside of the EU with an approved vaccine":
I'm following a bunch of relevant Twitter accounts and I haven't seen that date mentioned anywhere else, nor any more information about this, so I was a bit doubtful, but she is a députée de l'Assemblée nationale (equivalent to the House of Representatives in the US) from the same party as the president, so I suppose she might have insider info. Also that tweet was in response to someone saying that vaccination places were asked by the Ministry of Health yesterday to NOT deliver a French QR code for vaccine doses administered abroad anymore. |

This is my biggest question (and I’m sure I’m not the only one with this question). I contacted the Bourse de Commerce and asked whether my CDC card would work, and they said no. They will only accept the Pass Sanitaire QR code. Alternatively, they suggested that I get an antigen test at a pharmacy (for €29). It seems like different museums and places are doing their own thing, and as a result, this patchwork approach makes planning really difficult…
And each of these places has been completely uncrowded. At all of them we walked right up, showed our CDC cards, went to the ticket booth, bought tickets, went through security, and went in. Took maybe 5 minutes from walking up to getting in. And once in, they were not crowded at all. |

She was also interviewed on the radio yesterday (relevant part at 6:10, in French) : She mentions that they're working on having the app directly accept foreign QR codes, specifically from "Canada and select US States". She also repeats what is written on her website, including the August 2nd date (which she repeats multiple times and says "has been confirmed to her yesterday"). But she says that this will be done by hand at first so there might be some delays in getting the requests processed even though they've "hired massively for this", and an IT tool to speed up the process is in the works and should be ready around mid-August. |
