Today, another AY chat needed, after an aircraft change and some odd seat automatically assigned. Not to say, 2 seats allocated in the J cabin (330) and both next to each-other (the second one came up, less than a week ago, whereas the aircraft change was 1+ months ago, so I think, the other one was an automatic allocation due to a flight cancellation/rebooking).
Granted, my ticket seems to be a classic one, so I understand, AY doesn't want to allocate IT resources to create "new systems" IT for a product which is being phased out later on, though hmmmmm, anyway. |

Interested to change the date of a flight (depending on price), but no "change flight" option in MMB as an upgrade hasn't cleared and cannot cancel the upgrade request. Off to chat queue I go some time...

My app says my flight LIS-HEL arrived 13:03 yesterday. In reality, we touched ground at HEL 13:20 or 13:21. From what database does the app get this information? :confused:

STA was 13:20, I had no wifi but after landing the app updated itself to show 13:03, which it still does. But that's the same as ETA, so yes, that must be it. Strange.

I think usually the ETA is updated along the way so that it ultimately matches the ATA. Don’t know why it wasn’t updated for this flight.

I participated in a survey about AY app. I even got some feed-back. They said customers see the app as good and functional but the team should be doing a lot more to help customers to navigate through the post-pandemic travel. Whatever that means I think they genuinely want to improve the app. I think that the basic functions are good but there is a lot more that should be included.

The seat and meal selection have worked well for me. But I have not flown long haul and thus not trying to choose one of the options in the menu (the way it used to be)
I would like to see the booking class. One I selected a semi-flexible option and thought I would bring more Avios, but it was booked in a low yielding booking class. And the multi-city option should work a lot better. Now it is not possible to book a domestic morning flight and continue with an evening flight (at least not always) but you have to go to third party web page to do that. This is particulary annoying now that the options are very limited from Turku and Tampere. No possibility of changing the seat and meal though. |
Indeed, seat selection only works, if during booking there has not been a seat assigned to pax. Also, once selected, the seat selection option is gone. Have never seen the meal selection in the app, only the pre-order whatever sandwich, or wrap, for short haul Y flights.
As Ikrt has mentioned already, a baggage tracking would be a welcomed function, really like it in AA's app. |
Have anyone here found any new good features in the Finnair app? There has been an update and the font has changed but that’s it pretty much. They also display the incoming trips differently.

They haven't at least updated the most stupid information about boarding times. Sitting in the lounge now watching our plane land from previous flight while the app is telling me that boarding has started already. Quite unlikely :rolleyes:
