Found a Work around :)
https://www.finnair.com/dk/dk/plus |
Well, now the Finnish site is updated to the new design. :( AY ask you to visit the old site for anything more "complex": "We’re still working on some features – if you wish to use your Finnair Plus points, a Finnair gift card or book an award flight, for example, you can do so on our old website."
|
Rolling in a new service (version) step-by-step is not necessarily bad. I mean, obviously it brings some inconvenience, but it also sounds more realistic than having a big flag day and then getting hit by millions of bugs.
What worries me is, do they have a design for the missing features, that they just have not yet had time to implement, or did they plainly forgot to consider them in the design? |

Pretty bad job and no, this is no way of launching a new website. |

Software apologists tells us it is too difficult to design the whole plan first, instead just start with the easy bits and invent the rest as you go along. Much like if the Egyptians would have started the pyramids by laying the top stone first, as that is clearly the easiest one. This way you don't have to decide how high pyramid you want, or calculate the base and the steepness. I'm betting a beer they are supposed to iterate until they reach the specifications. Or until the the client (AY) has had enough and moves on to a new contractor. New promises and new iterations. Rinse and repeat. Software industry best practice. |
Have an AY booking but when I type my Name and Booking Reference in on the iOS App it says Booking can't be found. If I change the name to my Partners last name, with the same booking reference, it lets me see the booking on the App.
I can log in fine under my name, just having issues adding my booking to the iOS app. I'm not a Finnair plus member as I'm with another OW airline. I've tried removing and reinstalling the app to no luck. It's not really an issue, more of a small annoyance I'm trying to fix. Worst case I'll just have to check in online and print off a boarding pass. |
Does your name have any special characters? |
Nope - Only regular characters.
Just strange how it works online but not on the app, yet for my partner it does work on the app. Same booking reference. As said, it's not a big issue as it works fine online and I can select my seat just fine, but it's more one of those things that when it's on your mind you can't get it off! |
My understanding is that the App automatically changes the FFP to AY, and that of course can't happen if you aren't a member. Perhaps that's the problem? Do other bookings work for you in the App?

Both work perfectly online and I've selected our seats etc. So my name seems fine on other bookings, and the booking reference seems fine for my partner. |
