Eva B777-300 Biz Seat question

Good day my wife and I are flying (1st time ever) on Eva- BR 26 Boeing 777-300 in Business Class: TPE-SEA- departing TPE late at night and arriving SEA around 6pm.

As a couple should we select the seats in the middle of the business class cabin (D and G)?

Thank you so much for your help! We are excited to experience Eva Business Class!

Depends on what you value more - ability to chat during the flight, or a window to look out. I've tried and liked both. Found it easy enough though some report difficulty communicating between the middle seats. In my experience it fine to just lean forward and chat a little when we wanted. If you plan on sleeping most of the flight, I'd probably lean towards the window seats. You can always get up and go for a walk together or stand by the bar area to chat/get some movement.

I actually think one aisle and one window seat works best for communicating as they are faced towards each other and one gets a window view as well.

So I assume that means like seats 5a and 5d? Have the seats in the same aisle number? Thank you!

I generally like flying 2 window seats in the same section like 1A/2A. It's hard to chat on the plane and you'd have to be very loud which can be rude.

BR26 is nighttime flight. On top of that, you aren't going to see much out the window flying over the ocean the whole time to SEA.

I would opt for middle seats in this case. You and your SO will be closer together.

Thank you all. Yes I assume/hope we would be sleeping most of the flight and or watching the IFE not looking out the window due to the time of night/ocean.

also do you know if we have an arrival lounge in SEA as biz class pax?

the only other Asian carriers we have flown are ANA and Thai/ both wonderful so excited to see how BR stacks up!

I believe that the lounge access will be via the *A rules, and as such you are out of luck at SEA as you would need a departing ticket.

FWIW:

On the flight, dawn will arrive only a few hours after takeoff (unless in dead of winter) as you go east. Not that it changes the fact that there is nothing to see until landing.

I have always found EVA right up there with the other premium Asian carriers. Though I personally like Japanese and Thai food more than Taiwan flavor of Chinese which is odd to me. Anyway, I fly these long flights based on a seat I can sleep well in and reliability. And as such, EVA works.

You can use the Centurion lounge if you have Amex Plat.

BR should be your best experience yet since they are regarded better than ANA, OZ, and TG.

You can track BR26 with Flightaware to get an idea of the sunlight situation is. First few hours of the flight will be dark, and then light for the second half.

I would vote for one isle and one window.

The divider is quiet wide for middle seat. Plus why you would want to give up sleep and talk to your SO.

EVA Air 777 JFK-TPE Equipment Question

Hello FlyerTalk,

I will be taking EVA's 115pm flight to TPE out of JFK on 5.24. I am in Elite class and wanted to know if they use the new 777-300ER equipment for this flight. I've read mixed reviews about the seats having boxes under the seats and also missing the foot/leg rest. Can someone help? I cant seem to get an answer anywhere.

Thanks

BuBu4 is very wrong. You will have the 77A, which means the bathrooms will be on the sides of the cabin and not in the middle. Also, the seats don't have leg rests but have foot rests only instead(except for row 20 which has a leg rest and a bar u can pull out from the leg rest to make it a foot rest). There are no boxes under the seat. Only planes with those are B-16701/B-16702(Both are 77N planes), which serve the VIE route and will be returned to the lessor in July. Also, the IFE is the newer Panasonic EX3 system and the lighting is LED.

If you really want to find out, planes B-16718-B-16729 are 77A planes. You can go on flightradar24.com and check out the past planes that have served BR30/29.
