Thanks for the info. This will be for my parents. The bulkhead seats look roomier, but they are not selectable on the seat map. Does EVA usually block the bulkhead seats or are they actually taken? The leg rest looks nice. Can I request them for my parents (they're 65 years old, if that means anything. I assume that sometimes airlines let senior citizens choose bulkhead seats).

20A/C and 20H/K are blocked for airport assignment as they are bassinet seats(First dibs if no baby, except when Diamond/Gold have requested the seats already). 20D/E/F/G are open for assignment 72 hours prior to departure.

question about EVA's flights from TPE to JFK
Hi, will be flying from TPE-JFK next month with family and am booked in Elite Class.
My itinerary says I'm in row 24; I checked online and saw that on 2/4 of EVA's 777 models, row 24 is windowless.
Typically, what model of the 777 does EVA fly from TPE to JFK
Will be flying on BR 32
Thanks

Are we sure there are no 77Ns flying around?
At one point lately there were 3 777s at YYZ. One was the one which hit the light pole, one went mechanical, and then another came in to fly people out. Flightradar is indicating that the 773s flying YYZ TPE lately are 77Ns.
I just want to know if there will be wifi on my flight in a few days. Thanks

Just a warning for those flying(or choosing to fly) BR7/8 in the next couple of months...due to a huge labor dispute over this specific flight and the overall layover schedule for crew, the service onboard may be subpar and FAs will not look very happy when operating this route.

I'm on BR35 right now and the crew is pleasant, but after buying them chocolate and the whole lot they don't see to be particularly enthused. This is unlike other BR flights I've been on (several).

As for BR7/8 rotation, the layover given is only 25 hours(not accounting for delays, traffic, duty starts 2.5 hours before etc.), compared to the near 48 hours for other North American trips. Therefore, they are constantly using TFAU(the labor union) to complain to management about switching this rotation(almost 6 months of complaining now) but they have not done a single thing. They have held a couple protests against this flight and some others(mainly BNE and the same-day turns on PEK, TYO, PNH) but to no avail and labor negotiations for improvement of rest time have gone nowhere.

25hrs layover for such a flight isnt too bad really.
The crew gets rest time during the flight as well so the actual work time isnt that long.
25 hrs is enough time to get to hotel, sleep, get a couple of hours rest n relax and back to plane home.
The FAs/Pilots are working after all, not a vacation.
Same day turns of less than 5 hours is ok, i feel.
Not the favourite flights but still doable.
There are a lot worse jobs out there, that pay less, work more etc.

They are currently using orange bands tied to their IDs and luggages as a way to protest(management sure doesn't care about it since they haven't said anything. The IDs and Luggage and uniform are all considered property of EVA, hence why you don't see any real protests using them). EVA refuses to budge on any of the layover schedules and instead offers days off before and after the trips.

Just an update: with the huge breakdown in labor negotiations over these 6 flights and the massive uncivilized dispute they had in the hotel where negotiations were being held yesterday, we may be looking at a strike vote soon. Management refuses to budge on any of the unions demands and has supposedly made tone-deaf comments during negotiations(things like "your standards are too high" etc. etc.) TFAU leaders have already funded a strike fund if negotiations continue to go south and the Ministry of Labor releases them from negotiations(unlikely considering BR is a private company).
For those on BR08/07, don't expect any good service.

Looking to fly YYZ-TPE RT in Feb. Got two toddlers in tow. Would you guys recommend premium economy for them or regular economy for them?
I understand the premium economy seat dividers don't lift up, so not sure how comfortable it's going to be for 2 to 3 year olds to sleep in, whereas in regular economy, the outbound flight looks pretty empty so they could each lay across 2 to 3 seats. Though the inbound flight looks pretty full. Considering doing regular for outbound and premium for inbound, but not sure how fare calculation works since one-ways cost more and I can't mix cabins when booking online.
Thoughts? Thanks
