I'm diamond and my wife is gold and we fly with our 7 month old. We haven't gotten any complaints and our baby does cry from time to time. In my opinion, the economy class bassinets are the most convenient followed by the elite class ones. The business class ones are pretty high up. That said, we usually book 8/9 A when traveling long distances with the baby.

As as noted in previous posts, diamonds are offered row 1, but I never take it. I find it slightly shorter than the other seats.

EVA has told us they will not give a bassinet due to baby's weight and height, in J class.

Travelling YYZ-TPE this coming Sunday in J class. Looks like EVA has opened up more seats in front cabin. my current selected seat is 9K, should I go with front seats?

All cabins have the same restriction.

Facebook Message works? Reference number and flight number enough to get the seat request?

Reference number, your itinerary, and your request. However, this is only for row 8 in J. Also if you are requesting for someone else, there name. If you are not BR Diamond/Gold though, they will not give you those seats.

Just a data point, I just got them to assign (or at least they claimed to assign) 8 AD, 9AD for my family, with 1 infant, stating the fact that we're travelling with 2 kids (plus infant), so need the seats to be altogether. As per current reservation, no status at all for all passengers.

Called the North America line to book the infant ticket plus seat reservations, selected the mandarin speaking option though.

If you have infants, they auto assign those seats to you. However, if you are just traveling by yourself, you will not get those seats assigned unless u are BR Diamond/Gold.

How are people getting seats that are blocked? Do they release them or do you have to call? I FB messaged them and was told to call. I called and was told they can't give blocked seats as that will go to airport control. I'm about T-36 right now. United 1K/*G. I know that doesn't provide a published benefit, but trying to get into an exit row. There are probably 30 or more blocked seats.

Hmm, I was under the impression that only 8A/K will get assigned with infant. The person I spoke to, was initially hesitant to give me 8D, until I pestered her. Then she put me on hold (presumably to get supervisor approval?) before letting me know that she was able to reserve 8D for me.

Yes, she herself cannot open up the middle seats. The system automatically opens up 8A/K for reservations with infants listed. You had a good CSR on the phone, a lazy one would just say they will make a note and you can ask at the airport.

Yea BR blocks quite a few rows of seats in Elite and Economy and a few rows of Royal Laurel too. Blocked seats that can be opened up are row 8 in RL and row 1 in RL. In the rest of the cabins, they will be assigned at check in. Note that even doing online check in does not allow you to choose certain blocked row like the emergency exit row and the bulkhead row in Elite. It seems to be a great problem that the people in Elite and Economy have.
