The repetition on the in-flight meals in Y is really starting to get annoying. The same chicken curry or some minor variation thereof on every single DXB-CPT flight... And the EK chicken biryani is getting old very quick. Also how come CPT always get planes with older IFEs?
anyone tried the beef short ribs served off the bone? Thinking of having them on my flight to FRA on Sunday (thankfully in J)

Quite good. The braised veal cheeks are as well. Not a big fan of the braised lamb shank though.

It's between the beef and the roasted chicken which I've had before (and is pretty good). Think I'll try the beef.

I reckon I've had enough chicken baharat to last me a decade this year. That said, the butter chicken snack DXB-EU over the past month has been brilliantly spicy.

Trip down memory lane...

Does anyone remember the (en-suite) bedrooms in the EK F lounge in Terminal 1? Anyone ever stayed in there and has kept any photos (of the room!)?

What happened to them?

Was looking at flights in j from LHR-SIN rtn emirates price coming in at £2350pp.
Then found flights via Swiss from LHR-ZRH-SIN with the ZRH-SIN flight operated by Singapore Airlines A380 for £1880 rtn which seems like a decent price to me for a Singapore operated flight.
Now comes the quandary, That’s nearly £1000 saved If 2 of us fly, and also never flown Singapore Airlines j class.
On the other hand so used the splitting long haul travel into two 6/7 hrs flight now via Dubai rather than a straight 12 hrs in the air, not done that in years. Plus no on board lounge.
Whats everyone’s views emirates or Swiss/Singapore?

Essentially economy for the first leg, but SQ J ist arguably superior to EK. For the savings I'd give SQ a try

They've been around a while - but what's an EK plane doing at a D gate? The wildlife livery is tangential as I wondered if anyone else had seen it and the livery makes it stand out

We're on scallops starters, fillet steak/vietnamese lamb/duck breast/chicken tandoor rotation at the moment.

I did notice kimchi on the buffet though.

I always enjoy the scallops!

What wines are served at the moment? Any 'specials'?

Didn’t see the whites, sorry.

Oh there was a Ch. Du Tertre Margaux 2000 knocking about but I might have drank it all....

^ Thanks!

I don't mind the Margaux, and it's on one of my next flights
