I gave up holding (as a blue!) so imagine that it is an across the board thing.

What, a 50% increase in response time? Unacceptable! Ask for compensation...

50%? Its a 18000% increase.

I have already complained of course and got what I really wanted: 500k miles out of this.

But a detail: I had 7 minutes of credit left so then those 3 min extra become very annoying suddenly!

*Just* didn't have enough miles for the both of us - so decided to save them for next time!

So... important question. With the UAE government declaring "pubs, bars and lounges" closed... is the FCL still open?

All three FCLs (that I know of) were open this last weekend, although Concourse A was half the size as the other half was used as a biz lounge, the biz lounge in Concourse A being closed. Approx Gates A13 and higher F, the rest J. The biz lounge at C9 was closed too.

At the B FCL, I was in there for about half an hour without seeing any other passenger around 10:30am on Sunday. The busiest place was the cigar lounge in Concourse A FCL with about half a dozen people.

Negroni Sbagliato (Negroni with Champagne instead of gin, this was a cabin crew member's formula)
Mai Tai (no orgeat but gets really close)
Sidecar
Now that I'm totally grounded until my company allows travel (probably when there's a vaccine)... got nothing better to do than add more to this list for when I get back to it...

How are you guys all doing? Missing even the possibility of running into any of you at DXB.

https://punchdrink.com/articles/old-...cktail-recipe/

The Old Cuban (Champagne Mojito)
  • 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce simple syrup (2.5-3 packets?)
  • 6 whole mint leaves
  • 1 1/2 ounces Bacardi 8 rum
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 2 ounces Champagne
  1. Muddle the lime juice, syrup and mint in a mixing glass.
  2. Add the rum, bitters and ice and shake well.
  3. Strain into a cocktail glass and top with the Champagne.
  4. Garnish with mint.

"Champagne"?
Maybe you can be a bit more specific than that.
I find the recipe interesting, but Dom is possibly wasted on this. Pity they don't do cocktails in the Moët bar in the B J lounge....

I'd go with the Moet if I had a choice. Moet's toasty and darker notes (compared to say, Veuve) would connect well with the bitters and oak in the rum.
If they have that random bottle of Taittinger onboard for PDB in F (because they're too cheap to pay duty on the Dom), that's even better.
