no guarantees- also Ek is direct so a better option than faffing in bkk

Interesting definition of ‘direct’!

Agree EK will be less hassle although a decent saving from flying QR here. Is SGN an EK 777 route? If so, I would happily change in BKK to avoid EK 777 J as long as you could also avoid QR A330/A340s on the BKK flight. QR 787/A350 much preferable even without Qsuites.

yes EK777 to SGN.
QR flights yes were A350 or 787 to BKK.
Might have to be a flip of the coin to decide!

2nd video:

With the Southern Runway Rehabilitation programme on track for completion at the end of this month, we take a deep dive into how DWC has come to life with the added influx of passengers and what our customers think of our second airport.

Seems like my Economy flight on Monday DXB-EDI has changed from a B777-300ER to a -200LR which of course will have the new J seats, and P fares have just been made available. Not impressed with the price (£473 GBP) but tempted as I've not been in the new seats.

My gripe though is why don't EK tell passengers as the seat selection sticks, so if you don't notice you won't be where you thought?

The difference isn't huge. I'd take the upgrade, I've flown the new J and it's great

Well I didn't buy the upgrade so sitting in an aisle of twin seats at the back. Does anyone know how to lift the aisle armrest on the new seats? It's not the same as before!

Has anyone managed to find / take advantage of the supposed discounted mileage upgrades which Emirates have been advertising?

I have looked at all of my upcoming travel, both East and West of DXB and have not been able to find anything...

I have literally just done one, but it didn't show up as a special offer - I realised the pricing on the upgrade screen was lower than usual and on the statement it shows "Discounted Upgrade Reward Offer".
