I think you can take on DL from DFW-ATL-DXB is only for evening flight and EK does not good timings for you at all. DL is a right choice for you. You have to accept it. Or if you want to take on UA/CO from DFW-EWR-BOM or DEL. There is a direct flight.

Emirates to add third A380 service to London Heathrow
Emirates' A380 services to London Heathrow will become triple daily from 24th January 2012. This will mean three out of the airline's five daily flights into Heathrow will be served by the superjumbo. Emirates' flagship aircraft will replace Boeing 777s on EK flight 029 from Dubai and on the return flight EK 030, adding capacity to one of the airline's busiest routes.
"Given the popularity of Emirates' A380s, I know this news will be well received by our customers flying between London Heathrow, Dubai and beyond. As these magnificent aircraft continue to join our fleet, we can offer more seats and choice in and out of high density points, while enabling a greater number of passengers to benefit from the Emirates' A380 experience," said Salem Obaidalla, Emirates' Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, Europe & Russian Federation. The airline brought its own brand of double decker, equipped with an Onboard Lounge and Shower Spas, to the British capital in December 2008. After supporting EK flights 001 and 002 between Dubai and Heathrow, EK 003 and EK 004 became A380 services in July of last year. The giant aircraft, known for its quietness and spaciousness, offers 14 flat-bed First Class Private Suites with electrically operated doors and 76 fully-flat seats in Business Class - all with aisle access - on the upper deck. Downstairs, there are 427 comfortable contoured seats in Economy, spread across four separate cabins. Passengers in all classes can settle down to more than 1000 channels of films, television programmes, music and games carried on the ice entertainment system. A personal satellite phone is fitted to each seat, which also carries a seat-back sms and email service, along with seat to seat calling and a "My USB" personal picture viewing facility. The third A380 service into Heathrow is another major investment for Emirates in the UK, where it operates 105 weekly flights via six gateways; London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow. In September of last year, Manchester, which is now a triple daily service, became Emirates' second UK gateway to be served by the superjumbo, replacing EK flight 017 and 018. The international airline of the UAE has a fleet of 17 A380s amongst a total fleet of 162 aircraft, flying to 116 destinations - now including Baghdad. ameinfo.com |

+ 7x A332 |
EK will receive 10 A380 (A6-EDU up to A6-EED) in 2012.
Q1 A6-EDU Q2 A6-EDV Q3 A6-EDW, A6-EDX, A6-EDY Q4 A6-EDZ, A6-EEA, A6-EEB, A6-EEC, A6-EED In 2013 it will be like that: Q1 A6-EEE, A6-EEF, A6-EEG, A6-EEH, A6-EEI Q2 A6-EEJ, A6-EEK http://plane.spottingworld.com/A380_production_list Anyone knows how many B77W will join the fleet or is there any site to check it? The phase out of 8 A343 and 7 A332 looks huge. I mean all current A343 flights - MUC, DUS, VCE, NCE, LED, ACC-ABJ, DKR, BLR (each daily), HYD (twice daily) - will see an upgrade to a B777 (maybe some will switch to an A345). Another 8-10 flights per day currently operated by an A332 will also see an upgrade to A345 or B777 (not to an A343 cause they'll leave the fleet) cause 7 A332 will leave the fleet. I hope NCL and DUR will get a B777 soon. That means if there will be new routes/destinations despite GIG-EZE, DUB, LUN-HRE and SEA (DFW is also new but it's the IAH flight so no new a/c needed) some other current A332 flights have to upgrade to an A345 or higher. Or EK will launch new routes with A345 or B777 in the near future. |

A6-EDA through A6-EDE with crew rest quarters (5 aircraft) A6-EDF through A6-EDL without crew rest quarters (7 aircraft) A6-EDM through A6-EDP with crew rest quarters (4 aircraft) A6-EDQ without crew rest quarters (1 aircraft) Therefore totals so far are 9 aircraft with crew rests, and 8 without them. But Emirates website also shows A6-EDR and A6-EDS as also coming without crew rests, so I guess those are the aircraft for KUL, and LHR. Thanks CaptainEK Airbus |
