Yeah I'm having the same problem mate. Probably just a glitch in their system I'd say. But, I'm seeing the flights show up again on the 3rd of November. So let's just hope that's what it is. :)

Bit disappointed that KUL had the A388 deployed before SIN. Any word of why this occurred? I was always under the impression that SIN was one of EK's strong points? Being a business hub, I would expect that the premium loads would be high?

Cheers mate,

EK354/355 is 5 weekly without flights on Tuesday and Wednesday. The flight will become daily from 1st February 2012.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/16886862-post632.html

In total there will be 4 daily flights DXB-SIN (3 nonstop + 1 via CMB) compared to 3 daily DXB-KUL.

It's been in the system for several months now, and bookable as well. And indeed, they cut it from daily to 5x weekly to see how the loads play out, before going daily.

EK354, departs DXB at 0325, arrives SIN 1445
EK355, departs SIN at 0200, arrives DXB 0510

This leaves 40 mins after EK405, so its cutting it close. At least this will lighten the premium loads somewhat.

That's 3 direct flights daily and one indirect (ie EK348/349) all on 777-300ER's

* Be warned, this aircraft has the old sleeperettes in J...not ideal at those flight times.

Still no answer as to why the 77W sits on the tarmac for 12 hours?

Nope. A waste of time and money having a B77W sitting around doing nothing if you ask me. I really did think EK would have had something planned for this flight. Maybe we'll just have to wait and see. :p

Cheers,

I will ask again - but the last conversation was along the lines of "we don't think we could get the utilisation out of the aircraft". Perhaps crew planning/logistics is an issue and then a decision as to what market they would try and add on. Would have to be close by (ie 2-hr hop, so maybe BKK, CGK etc). Then the issue if the plane goes mechanical or is delayed, the knock on effect to DXB would be significant. Maybe they don't want to risk it.

You both wait there then, while I go and ask...:)

Gulf co-operative council "arrangement"

Is it possible that Emirates/Ethihad and Qatar dont want to compete head to head ALL the time so they are picking where to start flights in NAmerica.
Ethihad from ORD.Qatar from IAD.Emirates fromDFW/IAH/SFO/SEA/LAX.
Could we see one of them from DTW or BOS or MSP or ATL?
the exception is NYC where all are involved ?due to prestige or market.

QR will introduce the B77W on KUL-HKT, BKK-HAN and BKK-SGN. Looks like these destinations working fine for them.
Could these (HKT, SGN, HAN as well as DPS, SUB or CEB) be EK destinations in the (near) future or is there not enough First-/Business-Class demand?

I am waiting for these destinations as well .. AFAIK SGN was a destination in the 80s or 90s before it got dropped..

Still no answer as to why everyone thinks the 77W have to or will fly to somewhere else just because it is sitting for 12 hours?

It only makes money when it's moving people around.
