Emirates New Routes & Changes 2012 (and prior)

For summer 2011, Emirates increases the capacity to some destinations:

KUL: from 21/7 to 25/7
BKK: 2 daily flights with 388
DAM: more 773 flights

The info loaded into the GDS is incorrect. The primary schedule system doesn't have this loaded. I think the info in GDS is more likely stale info from previous schedules which are no longer in force. For example GDS for Summer 2011 still reflects EK733/734 as being operated by A345 - which is clearly not the case. Also, there are no available A380s to mount an additional A380 daily rotation (unless the planned upgrade to PVG in Jan 2011 doesn't happen). The first 2011 A380 delivery is not until end of September. The reinstatement of EK344/345 to KUL is possible, but KUL could also get an update to A380 to one of its flights instead.

Here's a sneak peek of some selected items for the 2011/12 operating plan (all subject to change)
-EK085/086 DXB-ZRH-DXB aircraft upgrade from B772 to B77W (Suites)
-EK147/148 DXB-AMS-DXB aircraft upgrade to daily B77W (Suites)
-EK035/036 DXB-NCL-DXB aircraft upgrade from A332 to B772
-2nd dailies planned for SFO and GLA. Also 3rd daily for MAN in the draft.
-A380 could be placed on EK045/046 DXB-FRA-DXB and EK059/060 DXB-HAM-DXB subject to government approval.

Remember the 2011/12 operating plan is far from finalised and subject to a lot of changes to come.

Be patient, lot of interesting news will be unveiled in coming months.

Actually in the blog post, I specifically mentioned they're only loaded in Sabre and Amadeus' timetable listing, they're not showing up in EK's in-house system.

But those routes mentioned doesn't look like default schedule.

EDN and EDO

With 2 more A380 coming before the year ends, what destinations for the fat whale are planned ? And out curiosity how are they going to Operate JFK YYZ and SYD with only 5 A380 with Crew Rest Compartment ?

A second daily rotation to HAM seems to be in the cards for summer 2011, according to press reports.

2 for the daily JFK, 2 for the daily SYD, and 1 for the thrice a week YYZ

when will the A332 be phased out? and with that being said, Will we see an equipment upgrade on the DXB-DUR-DXB flight soon? I know plenty of people that prefer to fly via JNB due to the A332 product being really below par when compared to the 77W that fly out of JNB

"with only 5 A380 with Crew Rest Compartment ?"

Now EK has six A380 with Crew Rest Compartment!
Besides A6-EDA/EDB/EDC/EDD/EDE; the A6-EDM also has a Crew Rest Compartment!
Although at the moment 5 are enough to fly daily to JFK and SYD and 3 weekly flights to YTO.

Yes i know you mentioned that. But i think GDS does have stale info for the Summer 2011 schedule and this is evident in many destinations. For example:

EK733/734 DXB-KRT-DXB still shows A345 vs. recent change to A332
EK793/794 DXB-LAD-DXB shows 2 separate flight numbers - the correct EK793/794 but also the previous flight no. of EK791/792.
EK514/515 DXB-DEL-DXB still shows A332 vs. recent change to A345
EK3705/3706 DXB-MRU-DXB still shows as B77W vs. recent change to A332

Also i know for a fact that frequency increases on routes have not been loaded into any system yet (not even internal). As i mentioned earlier, the 2011/12 operating plan is still being worked on and far from complete. Aircraft delivery dates are not finalised and a number of important bilateral discussion outcomes are pending (esp. India) so there will be considerable changes.

It won't be until late December where GDS will more accurately reflect the Summer 2011 schedule.

A6-EDM is a ULR config as will A6-EDN. These aircraft have the crew rest, and make for a total sub-fleet of 7 frames. To operate the ULR only routes as ung1 and ZRHMD11 mentioned, only 5 frames are required, but note that there is ongoing maintenance so up-to one frame will be out of service for a period of 4 weeks. A6-EDA was done a few months ago, while A6-EDB is currently in the hangar and due out in the next 10 days. But another 3 frames (A6-EDC, A6-EDD and A6-EDE) will need to be in for maintenance over the next 4-5 months, hence the requirement of additional ULR frames.

A6-EDO will be non-ULR and will be used on EK302/303 DXB-PVG-DXB on a daily basis effective 1 Jan 2011 (this not confirmed officially yet).

This is going to depend significantly on a revision of the UAE-Germany aviation bilateral which i believe may take some time. I think upgrade to A380 is more likely during Winter 2011 than a 2nd daily. My understanding is that additional Germany destinations and frequencies will probably happen in 2012 than 2011.

See other threads for A332 phase out plans where i have put up info. I haven't heard anything regarding an aircraft upgrade for DUR. As i said earlier its early days and the 2011/12 operating plan is far from finalised.

Thanks for the news Emirates777.
I think EK will need anyway more A380 with ULR configuration.
I guess EK will soon fly to SFO, GRU and to MEL-AKL with the A380.

The next batch of ULR will be the "lighter" aircraft which will be used for SFO and GRU but this won't be until 2012 at the earliest.
