A hint of a future route to Belfast? ;) We know that EK and the Jumeirah Group operate in mysterious ways :p

Ulster Carpets secures prestigious Dubai hotel deal
Ministers will also use the trip to promote Northern Ireland's tourism potential.

Belfast seems a little far fetched in the short term... ;) maybe a few years yet! Seems like EK is pushing their efforts for North American expansion at the moment.

Especially with Qatar pushing into Atlanta, Chicago, and Detroit before them.

I would expect some more Asia to be announced first. Taipei, Denpasar, additional points in mainland China, to name just a few. EK seems to be also in need of additional capacity to Manila and Jakarta.

I believe that there at least some more spare B77W capacity coming up towards the end of the year, so I would expect some more route announcements.

I'm not convinced Denpasar will happen - and certainly not as an add on to flights which might "lay-over" in SIN. Cost of jetA, crew, landing fees etc just doesn't make the business case stack up if the back of the plane is full of people paying a couple of hundred SGD. Just my 2 cents...

Definitely agree with more capacity is needed for MNL and TPE etc.

I am told EK is even contemplating DXB DPS Australia. DPS is definitely on the radar. Also, the B77L sitting in SIN for half a day is very atypical for EK. I would expect that flight to be rescheduled or extended somewhere.

HB-IWC, DXB-DPS-(MEL/SYD) makes perfect sense. You and I can argue over a beer with the local EK team about whether or not they think an add-on flight will ever happen out of SIN. I'm told no. For now.

True but they also said that a new Uk destination "west and north of the border" is on the cards ;)

The Dublin route has been so successful and I am sure that a proportion of the passenger traffic comes via Belfast, so why not go after that market too? ;)

The quote from Tim Clark was:

In the U.K., where Emirates serves London Heathrow, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle upon Tyne and Glasgow, there’s the possibility of it adding a further destination which “could be north of the border or further west,” he said.

If "border" means border of England, then Cardiff and Belfast are west of it, and Edinburgh is north of it.
(If "border" refers to the border of the UK, it wouldn't make any sense)

If he meant the UK border then Iceland is west, and Canada is north which also wouldn't make sense. I'm sure he was refering to England.

Also, EK#22 (A6-EDW) A380 has postponed delivery date but, there is no new date to be set yet. We will find out when I hear anything more new info from A380 production.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if this route is added...

Nice find mate! ^
