Even on Emirates.com the aircraft type showing is 777-300 . Premium bookings seem low , lots of upgrades recently from Y to J due to overbooking in Economy Class. But then again only Tim Clark knows why ? Maybe chinese government was not interested in allowing the daily service into PVG ?

And a 1h 25m turnaround in DUB? I guess EK has no choice as there is really no other way to make the route fit in with it's current departure banks but from now it looks like this flight is going to be delayed often.

The Glasgow flight is a similar pattern, leaves DXB 0750 and lands in GLA at 1235 before departing GLA at 1415 and arriving back in DXB at 0040.

As we all know, the scheduled arrival and departure times have a bit of buffer built in, if the GLA flight leaves DXB at 0750 it'll get to GLA before 1235 more often than not.

The Glasgow flight has a pretty reasonable on time arrival percentage both into GLA and DXB.

Wow, that's obscure. I had never heard of it. I would think that Comoros would be a more viable destination; maybe the flight would service both?

EK flew to Comoros before but pulled out citing operational safety issues at the airport.

Maybe that's why they consider coming back to the Comoros Islands where Mayotte provides a safe airport with EU standards. Connecting service to the other (independent) Comoros Islands could be provided by a local airline, the islands are not far apart.

The independent Comoros Islands are one of the poorest countries of the world, while Mayotte recently became a full French overseas department and part of the EU (after being a French overseas territory before).

Why there is problem in HAH? Why EK is pulling out of HAH completely. I thought they are doing good.

Oh right. Welcome to FlyerTalk, DUSFLYER. I didn't realize know that but, Thanks for your efforts. I beg your pardon me. Just only 1-time service. I wonder. The ground crew will have training for A380. I believe HAM does not have double duals jetbridge.

EK pulled out of Moroni (HAH) in 2000 for security reasons as mentioned, it used to be a stop enroute to JNB.

Hi all new member to this forum,,
Am flying from MEL-HAM on the 4th April 2012 and back on the 19th on 406/407 and 059/062
It was mentioned earlier EK may start A380 on the 406/7 route from march, the EK website currently shows 777-300ER will this possibly change only when the plane comes online or can anyone confirm the A380 will start then?
Thanks

EK A380 to MEL is just a tentative plan for the moment.

Wow...I didn't even know that. I thought they didn't stop flying to HAH. Is that security concerned. Depending how much longer when EK will resume service to HAH in a distant the future.
