Tokyo Narita Increase from 5 weekly to Daily from 30OCT11. 77W operating. (Previously plan to change to 77L is now cancelled)
Osaka will get Daily 77W again from 01OCT11 Singapore service increase modified, increase from 14 to 19 weekly (excludes 1-stop via CMB) from 30OCT11, and then increase to 21 from 01FEB12. EK354/355 is the new flight, and still no tag-on flights despite sitting at SIN for a lengthy period of time, and some still insist it'll go on to somewhere else. |
Hi Jim
Thank`s for the news; I just heard, GRU will switch from 77W to 77L....can you confirm this? |

Given that Lufthansa and Asiana are the only big foreign players at this airport, I highly doubt EK will be making an entry anytime soon. |
So does all this mean we won't see ORD or IAH in 2012?

I'm not sure what you mean by 'all this'. |
LOL, sorry, Messed up IAH and IAD.
I'm not sure what I mean by "all this" either. But really hoping for ORD |

I usually do BOM-IND 3 to 4 times a year, connect with AA or DL in JFK. Lately JFK-IND service has been shortened leading to messed up connections. Have always had a great experience with ek, never flown ey. I am a student if that matters so usually fly Y and very occasionally J.
EDIT: Oh, I also do about 1 to 2 other round-trips on EK, sometimes europe, sometimes asia. I would prefer to fly 1 airline alot rather then flying many airlines. Also I just got silver on ek and am trying for gold. Before going all in with emirates I considered star alliance, But their Y product is generally a lot worse then ek, not to mention that they fly their oldest birds to BOM |
The really annoying change for me is the one from DXB to HKG which used to arrive at 2110 and now arrives at 2150. The difference makes it almost impossible to catch a bus to the mainland as the last one leaves about 2300. DXB to CAN is about 60% more expensive than HKG for some reason so using Hong Kong for destinations in Southern China makes a lot of sense.

Emirates is focusing on expansions on existing markets and looking at new markets for S12 and W12.
EK has listed a series of qualifications/requirements on what they're looking for. Not a long list nor short, but it pretty much knocks down all the reasons/suggestions why EK should fly to ___ by various members here. (No, not even the reason of "there are a lot of people traveling from point A to point B, that means there's a good yield and EK should fly that route) On a side note, one other particular airline even asked "please be realistic". |
