Another question though. Does the A380 have the range to make it on DXB-SFO/LAX route?

Due to weight restrictions. The A380 doesn't have fully payload restricted. The A380 does not have enough more range to reachable in SFO or LAX. I think it will brings 500 tons more. It will increased from 8,300nm to 9,300nm where entire A380 will able flying nonstop from DXB-LAX/SFO or anywhere else. There is a limited range is near 8,200nm. Could be possible to reach in West Coast without fuel stop. Due to strong high headwind gusts and it will able to reaches in West Coast without tech-stop in EU to get refuel the plane.

Chicago and Washington might be announced soon.

They're hiring sales managers amongst other staff for both locations on their careers website......

It doesn't really mean anything.

Wonder if that can be the case for the A389. The A380 can easily take over the two 777s anyways on a particular route. At the very least they should add another daily flight to SFO (redeye from Dubai arrival in the morning)

Really? Why? You have examples of other cities where EK just opening an office, hiring staff, bit no intentions to fly to that city/destination

Well, for starters, the Chicago office has been open for about 4-5 years. There is no correlation between sales office and starting service.

ORD and IAD are inevitable, but a sales office really doesn't mean anything as to timing.

I would agree with you this. EK will switch to A380 from 77W or 77L aircraft. A380 will very successful nonstop DXB-SFO. If there is enough more payload restrictions. In the particular consideration for EK will able to change the equipment in a distant the future. If they do have enough aircraft availability. Instead, I wasn't sure if there is enough more passengers capacity on operating A389 or A380-1000. Obviously, it will have a better choices for A380 is more suitable aircraft.

confirms it's two separate flights operated by b77w.

The Emirates website states the opposite.

Will pax be able to buy a GIG - EZE ticket? Does EK have the right to sell on this route?

EK is giving Baghdad another try, with service starting 13NOV11. It'll operate 4 weekly flights (last time was 3 weekly) with 3-class A330-200.

However, reservation is not open for the moment.

Another question though. Does the A380 have the range to make it on DXB-SFO/LAX route?

the new a380-800's (extended range) will have some 600MTs less weight that ek + BA are both getting in 2012.

it's been said that will be able to go the full routing at least to sfo/lax, but after it successfully goes to sfo then the pressure will be there for it to go to Lax. also ek's putting pressure on Airbus to ensure the a350XWB-1000 can do dxb-lax. Let's see what happens. "it ain't over until the fat lady sings".:p

5th Freedom granted to EK, by both Goverments

That is correct 5th Freedom was granted therefore EK will be able to sales tickets without a problem.
