My fiance made sourdough bread today out of some cultures she'd been growing and they'll be filled with chicken tortilla soup washed down with some margaritas.

My wife cooked American Wagyu bone-in short ribs, Japanese style. Very good, better than the last cut we used (oxtail) for sure, although still incredibly fatty. Next up will be linguine with clams and some jambalaya.

Last nights dinner was cod blackened on the grill, mashed neeps and tatties, grilled asparagus (skinny stalks). The asparagus was excellent despite being skinny because they were a little charred. Of course Im the guy who leaves the popcorn in the microwave until it smokes so charred is one of my favorite flavors.

Charred asparagus is one thing. Popcorn is quite another.

Last night, Trader Joe's frozen Italian meatballs (I had read they're the best frozen meatballs) with home made tomato sauce over penne. Baby red bibb lettuce with cherry tomatoes and red wine vinaigrette. A couple of slices of La Brea country style sour dough. Old fashioned banana cake with streusel topping (slightly warm) with vanilla ice cream.

Moules marinieres. Local mussels from 3 miles away, harvested today. Paired with a Vieilles Vignes Muscadet. Can't really get better!

Creme brie and apple stuffed chicken breast (from Costco) with a side of cavatappi pasta in garlic alfredo sauce with roasted mushrooms, red onions, tomatoes and Italian sausage. Grated black pepper and grana padano cheese on top of the pasta. Beverage of Pellegrino.

Cheeseburger sliders with the roll-ppang from Maangchi thanks to LapLap’s link and suggestion :-)
I’m down to 3 rolls so should bake more Thursday afternoon.

also grilled a ribeye steak and it was good. I rarely buy or cook steak - I last cooked a steak over 5 years ago.

Cottage Pie tonight with a twist. The topping will be half mashed potato and half mashed swede (it's called creative use of leftovers!).

The flank steak has been marinating since noon. It will be joined on the table by steamed broccoli and sweet corn.

I don't know what he uses but mine is the standard balsamic, soy, garlic, olive oil. I don't let it marinate for more than an hour or two as I find it breaks down the meat a bit.
