Last night I grilled some chicken sausages from the freezer. Mr Gfunk (sugar hound that he is) wanted Boston baked beans, but we don't have any because I don't buy that sugary junk unless I have to. So I looked up a couple recipes and threw together a version of them that we both liked a lot!

Cut up a couple slices of bacon and fried in a small pot with some chopped onion
Add two cans of beans , rinsed
some bbq sauce
some Heinz chili sauce
a little A1
a little lemon juice
a little brown sugar
a little hot sauce

stir and heat in the pot

the cauliflower was fab - very impressive. I will boil it less time in the future - organic cauliflower is smaller than regular cauliflower.
i should recook it for today! We had it Wednesday night with poached salmon.

i grilled the steak for Wednesday luncheon. My spouse had it with mint, cilantro, and lime. I had it plain with a side of chips & salsa.

Last nights supper was grilled turkey burgers & cheeseburger sliders with oven-baked french fries. i let the fries cook longer than desired because I thought there was a high desire for crunch.

bowls of white can resemble anything. Plus some cultures dip stuff into mayo :-)

Well...... they do look kinda soft and a bit glossy on top. I would not have guessed they were mashed potatoes.

If you whip them with a mixer and don't stop soon enough, you get paste. (Not saying that's what happened here. )

I think the conventional wisdom is not to use a mixer. I think this controversy might warrant it's own thread. Mashed potatoes should not be put through a food processor nor mixing beaters...they will get gummy.

Yup, considering set up and clean up time, a potato masher is faster than any machine. Great texture control and clean up is a breeze.
