I appreciate that, but I also know I am a mean uncle and I'm their only one. My biggest concern with both of them is that they won't cook their own proteins, unless it's a hot dog. Breakfast bowls go unused as they'd rather eat toast or something sweet. The only times they'll drink a protein shake is when they must see the doctor or post op. But their favorite thing now is Vitamin Water Zero so they suck down two cases a week.

Earlier in this or the Cooking in Isolation thread, I mentioned that I am good cooking up to six days out of the week and they can fend for themselves with pre-portioned leftovers, so I won't always post, but I am generally cooking and doing the shopping.

ASIDE: We had a "laundry emergency" earlier in the week as they bought a new W/D kit back in February, but it pretty modern so I was washing everything. They disliked a front loader they had in the 2000's, so we replaced a traditional top loader this year with an LG
top loader with a computer to sense the weight of the clothes so it measures water. Typically, I just use the fast wash cycle for everyone since normally there is never a full load, but after a bedding accident on Saturday night they tried on Sunday morning not to bother me and they put liquid detergent in the Bleach part, used pods and liquid detergent and thought every load needed "Heavy Duty" cycle which is over 90 minutes long and overly suds their clothes with 5 times detergent in the water. I've spent the week using the tub's Sanitize feature.

Wow... Sounds like you've had your hands full with the laundry issue!

Yes. This site doesn't need me (or anyone) to (re-)start a "Laundry Buzz" in OMNI. I just need to wash and fold for them. It took them minutes to just see the universal ON button since they normally just turn a dial and pull. Admittedly, it was the first time since this W/D arrived that they had a bed or pajama issues and took it on themselves.

I will not talk about it again as we need to return to the food.

caregiving is always a big activity for people of any age. I hope that you have some adequate support for yourself - and you should indeed start a laundry Omni or participate with laundry talk in the Omni Vent thread.

Speaking of food, I'm going to finish a few things at work and then have chicken fajitas for dinner.

Sounds like my night. I reheated chicken fajita filling, heated up tortillas, and had a few cans of beer.

Nothing wrong with a $10 Zin from Trader Joe's occasionally!

There is something wrong with bagged salad, however. I always taste something funny (or think I do).

Thursday turkey taco night - finally made guacamole thanks to the ace avocado advice from people here. Thats another side dish Ill not have to ever again buy, as long as I keep buying avocados :-). I did this with pico de Gallo so maybe at some point Ill figure out how to make taco powder mix...

we got the Triceratops awhile back - no way to justify new taco shell holders. Time to wash those babies. Theyre super cute.

I don't mind it for a quick meal, but at the same time, I generally prefer to not eat salad because it sometimes has not so great results.
