You're asking me? I've never heard of an Omaha steak. I just see on here a lot of posters refer to the meat they cook by what grade it is.

Sometimes, it's still fun to ask.

A lot, I'm sure. For the last few years my mom's sent us fillet mignon from Omaha or Kansas City Steaks, and each time we remark at how great they are. We typically get fillets at Whole Foods or a local butcher.

We made this recipe for dinner and it was excellent! A Persian soup with rice, lentils, barley, garbanzos, spinach, parsley and cilantro, topped with greek yogurt and a caramelized onion and mint combo. Really tasty.

I’ve bought them for my kids but never had them myself. They all raved about the potatoes, desserts and steaks.

Tonight I made a stir fry with chicken and leftover vegetables. Also made cauliflower fried rice. The stir fry was ruined by home grown ginger given me by my next door neighbor (whose name is Ginger). It was very bitter and earthy tasting.

I used to get filets from Omaha from a supplier at Xmas and I was not at all impressed. I know that filet is not the most flavorful cut but they weren't that tender either. This was about 20 years ago so maybe things have changed.
that soup looks good!

Is that in the Central Valley? I've had some good steaks while passing through there. I think I was in Fresno. The barman at the lobby bar was fascinated by prostitution laws in Australia.

Sorry, I have no appetite, can't sleep, and feel very depressed today, so I didn't have dinner, nor lunch or breakfast.

It's in Coalinga right off the freeway - the restaurant looked nice and maybe the beef they were selling looked okay but to use a quote from TA
"The odor! Just north of the Harris Ranch resort, there is a huge feed lot with hundreds, maybe thousands of head of cattle. In temperatures around the 100 degree mark the smell of cow manure was nearly overwhelming."
Just can't get past that. (not to mention how sad all those cows looked jammed into the small space).
