And, it's far better than Costco IMHO, but far more than $1.99. I guess it depends whether you like crack crisp crust.
My Mod Pizza typically lasts me two days, so I'll have it for dinner one day and lunch the next, but then will have something different the next few days. I like the concept, but I've found my local one seems to skimp on the toppings.

So much bread still .... Grilled some slices with olive oil and garlic powder, then topped with refried beans, sliced tomato and cheese and baked, and then topped with fire roasted salsa, guacamole and lots of cilantro.

Cassels hamburgers. Cassellshamburgers.com
They have been around for 75 years for good reason. They fresh grind their premiun blend of chuck and brisket every day.

1/3 lb hamburger, parker house bun, pickles, lettuce and tomato and special sauce. There is a perfectly medium rare burger under there.

Sweet potato waffle fries. They are dusted with cinnamon sugar which I should have told them to skip.

and Is this the Ethiopian on telegraph walking distance from MacArthur Bart? I do pay attention to where I walk once I exit and when I plan to enter MacArthur Bart station and there are SO MANY amazing eateries within a 10-minute stroll. Its bloody mind-boggling at the high wealth of great food there - just like in most major cities of course.

To be accurate, the original Cassell's opened in 1948 and closed in 2012. The brand was brought back to life at the end of 2014 by the owners of the refurbished Hotel Normandie. They acquired the original signage and some of the original equipment from the closed location (LAist).

Disclosure: When I attended law school, I regularly ate lunch at Cassell's.

When I worked downtown I used to eat lunch at the original a lot. The problem with the Normandie Hotel is there is no where to park except the lot across the street for $10. Burger was just as awesome as I remember it from so long ago. Yes, there is lots of original signage etc so it feels retro. They had bags lined up all along the counter...they must do a lot of door dash type business in that neighborhood.

Well, I am not sure that nowadays the parking situation at the 3266 West 6th Street location is any better than at 6th and Normandie. The area has changed and gotten much more upscale since my student days.

Someone at the supermarket screwed up and pierogies were a buck a box (normally $4) so bought a few and just fried some up.... didn't saute any onions but still, quick cheap dinner with half a box of leftovers for tomorrow.
