We do that too!

Back to dinner ... A lovely five course "tasting" menu at the JFK Delta One lounge

A Mai Tai to start. Didn't finish it. But tasty

The mussels and the salmon, along with a lovely French white.

Had to try both French reds ... A Bored O and something from the south.

Black cod and shrimp

Sue Flay

Espresso brewed to order for the bajativo. Stopped by the bar on the way out.

Bacon in Doha? I was under the impression that it was illegal to import pork products to Qatar and they certainly don't raise pigs there.

Doesn't look like it, but maybe it's beef bacon? Looks more like prosciutto than bacon to me, too red-ish for the stuff we get around here.

Coming back from polo I got this hankering for street tacos and since Costco is close to my hotel, I popped over and picked some up. I always pan fry the tortillas in olive oil so they have at least a little crisp, also saut the chicken in olive oil and immediately afterwards generously squeeze lime juice on it and today pairing with a French Sauvignon Blanc (for all you Costco shoppers, this is currently and drinks well for an everyday Sauvignon Blanc). Not the most aesthetic dish. . As for Pip, since the chicken is well spiced, she instead got some lump crab which she was more than happy with (and I found her hovering right above the tacos the moment I turned my head before I treated her to the crab)

Since we did have a brief discussion of the kitchenette set-up, for those unfamiliar with the Homewood set-up, heres a picture before I assembled the street tacos with the cabinets open to see

On a completely different level was the kitchen in my 1 Bedroom Residence Suite at the Waldorf Astoria Park City at the end of May with Viking appliances

Found some great art

However, tonight was a visit to Mall of Qatar for a saucy Shake Shack and a yummy cup of churros ice cream

Al Messila Doha - butter chicken and naan at Taj Rasoi (cheese naan was okay, garlic naan was good) followed by delicious chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream from room service

dinner at Little Saigon in Lawrence — freshly made spring rolls and the Friday special —

“Friday’s Special. Bn b Huế (Spicy beef noodle soup) Only $10.95.
Bn b Huế originated from Huế, the last imperial capital of Vietnam. The broth is prepared by simmering beef bones and beef flank with lemongrass and then seasoned with shrimp sauce and sugar for taste. Bn b Huế usually served with cilantro sprigs, diced green onions, raw sliced onions, and mung bean sprouts.
What The Hueeeeeeeeeee!”
