Airplane dinner.
Selected an item from a professed 3 start Michelin restaurant. The main course was fabulous and one of the best of its kind I've ever had, some kind of dumplings in lo-mein soup based. The rest of the offerings while both aromatically appetizing and aesthetically pleasing were, far as I can tell, were all non-meat based. So, I left it untouched, not out of principle of course, but simply because I just don't like the taste of veggies, unless it's something like french fries or onion rings.
I decided to skip the pre-landing meal, to which the FA probably noticing I had left most of my dinner untouched, kindly offered to make me a burger. I assured her dinner was fine, and I'd just prefer to save my appetite for dinner in town.

Had a packet of "Singapore curry" from sometime in the past so made a "pork curry" from a pork shoulder, potatoes, onions, coconut milk and a few hours in the slow cooker. Reduced the curry and shredded the pork. Served on store brand hamburger buns.

Thanks. Originally it was kinda watery when I was shredding the shoulder, so I did the dumb thing and set it on high (analog crockpot)... after a few hours, it was better, but there was a slight hint of a burnt smell to it (maybe the coconut milk started to scorch). I suspect it would have been fine if I had just left it on low or warm to let it evaporate a bit more. As it is, I've fished all of it out and put it in the fridge. Going to pan fry some in the morning to have for breakfast and use some of the curry there and see if it fixes it.

bagels - I have the inventory.
Beet salad.
they closed that location (Steiner across from Izzys - chestnut was cross street). I last ate there in 2014.
We eat at the 24th street location - cross Castro & Diamond.

Grilled burger....a blend of brisket & chuck so nice fat content. Unfortunately that fat also caused it to catch fire.
Brioche bun, tomato, pickles, pickled red onion, lettuce and crunchified with potato chips.

I met jackal for dinner Friday night at a Turkish restaurant called Clay and Fire on the west side of KC/MO. It was wonderful!
We started with the spread trio (Guajillo hummus, charred green onion dip and ember eggplant dip) and an order of olives.

For the main course, the super friendly waitress suggested we split one of the dishes which, in retrospect, was a good idea! We had the Koobideh (halal ribeye minced with onion, Turkish peppers, sumac and fenugreek). jackal also ordered the coal roasted carrots.

Just when you think there wouldn't be more, we also split the Dahl soup. It was red lentils with red onion, garlic, ginger, coconut cream, tomato, cilantro and kale (plus some diced chicken)
