I met jackal for dinner Friday night at a Turkish restaurant called Clay and Fire on the west side of KC/MO. It was wonderful!
We started with the spread trio (Guajillo hummus, charred green onion dip and ember eggplant dip) and an order of olives.
For the main course, the super friendly waitress suggested we split one of the dishes which, in retrospect, was a good idea! We had the Koobideh (halal ribeye minced with onion, Turkish peppers, sumac and fenugreek). jackal also ordered the coal roasted carrots.
Just when you think there wouldn't be more, we also split the Dahl soup. It was red lentils with red onion, garlic, ginger, coconut cream, tomato, cilantro and kale (plus some diced chicken)
