eating or avoiding? I’m avoiding the yolk as best possible.
I used to make life easier by buying egg white juice, until my friend scoffed at this and said that I should be eating fresh egg whites and not juiced egg whites. Of course it made sense, which is why I have these extra steps when cooking eggs. I don’t even want scrambled or omelette egg whites - there’s such joy of fried egg whites.

And once again...compared to the rest of the meals, egg yolks are not the culprit here. Avoiding the yolk but eating tons of sausage and cheese and zero fiber is not helping lower cholesterol.
I don't know when gao last spoke to a nutritionist (other than the one that made the blanket statement that all pork was way worse than any beef) but it is always a good idea to get some professional info if a doctor advises you to make some dietary changes. |
French toast with cherry jam and a little Costco organic maple syrup
organic strawberries and bananas |
Breakfast Sunday:
Thick-cut turkey, cheese, and olive tapenade stuffed tortilla - baked in the oven! Toasted Eggo chocolate waffles with table cream for dipping https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...a2e75084_b.jpg |
Sunday luncheon:
reheated corned beef & cabbage, as a savory soup. Since I originally cooked it in the slow-cooker, I had much liquid with the leftover. I reheated it as a soup and omg. So delicious. Big yay and thank you to corky for the guidance and encouragement for making the corned beef. I’ll never ever need to buy it.

... it’s like my Chicago July trip where I’m trying to minimize heat discomfort and you kindly suggested that I not go on the trip. The trip is occurring (so not going is a non-answer) so I need to minimize my discomfort as best as I can. |

actually the choice is egg yolk or no egg yolk. The rest of my culinary delights aren’t changing. So “no or as little as yolk as possible” is my best response, when alternate response is “yolk” :-) . |
Today I had a single egg omelet with a little cheese, and a cup of oatmeal with a little maple syrup and some dried cherries.
Lunch was PB&J on Daves' Killer Bread (the Good Seed). Dinner was a let's-use-up-stuff-in-the-pantry, bow tie pasta with a bag of frozen vegetables and some Italian sausage from the freezer, and a jar of Whole Foods portobello mushroom red sauce. No booze today :( |
I had an artichoke as part of breakfast this morning and made another corned beef for dinner.

My point is that if you like the yolk (and it seems that you do because you try to "accidentally" break it), then just eat the yolk along with the rest of the egg. You are not helping nor harming yourself by having a few yolks a week. It is obvious that you are not really serious about trying to lower your cholesterol so I don't see the point in depriving yourself.
I have enough leftover for a final corned beef hash meal on Monday. That’ll be 7 straight days of corned beef product since I froze some of it. I still can’t get over how great it was. So happy!!! |
A purple heirloom tomato with salt, pepper, creme fraiche, and fennel fronds, and everything croissant toast.

on my passagiata but excited to have corned beef hash & eggs for my luncheon today.
I have to bring some ups thing to the ups store for my spouse which means avoiding the temptation and entering of several high quality taquerias, three Asian noodle places, two pizza spots, the place with the fried chicken that I still want to order, the amazing Mediterranean place I enjoyed with my book club for 2 years, two dispensaries, an ice cream parlor, and other Asian restaurants with more entrees than noodles. Oh and Burger King and planned parenthood with their obligatory protestors. I guess this is why I choose to live where I do. I might enter the safeway that herb baby herb baby herb baybeeeee mentioned because they have more Jarritos flavors and I can get it with self checkout. Ooh I’m about to pass temptation row. Omg. The Detroit pizza place. Omg. [Removed response to now-deleted post] |
