Yes and they are fabulous! They use the pickle chips normally put on burgers so it's like eating potato chips. <sigh> My waistline suffered so!

Not today but last Friday Jackal was visiting me so we had a steak cookout with my Father. He got seven New York strips from Whole Foods and seasoned them with salt and lemon juice then did them on the charcoal grille. Here are a few pictures (wine was courtesy of Jackal who knows how to pick his vino):

That looks wonderful.

Supper in Dubrovnik of cevapi in pitta with some beers. Dubrovnik is magical and mysterious at night.

(original Sarajevo recipe; served in flat bread with kajmak and onions) Ćevapi
(Kebab) is the name of a popular dish in the Balkans . They are small grilled rolls of ground beef,
veal, or lamb, usually served with chopped onions.

Last night I made my first attempt at garlic bread (actually worked out too!) so today I took the leftover baguette and topped it with scrambled eggs and cheese. Nothing like a little breakfast sandwich.

Today and yesterday ... for reasons that are far too indelicate to repeat I have been eating Imodium and drinking water. I have no sympathy from the wife.

Yesterday I cooked and ate Bacalao for the first and last time.

The 24+ hours preparing and cooking it would have been better spent re-decorating the bedroom.

It was nice out today so I took a stroll to my friendly neighborhood hot dog vendor and had the $5 combo (two dogs (with free chili and slaw!), chips and a soda). It was very tasty and it's a local business so I was happy to patronize them.

I hear you. I have many friends in Brazil who love it, and the supermarkets there are loaded with the stuff. I'm sure dried reconstituted cod was a great protein source back prior to refrigeration, but today, No.

It is tolerable when smothered in a super rich bechamel type sauce, but what's the point of that?

I didn't mind it in Lisbon, when it realized that olive oil was a much better place to swim than the ocean...plus, it wasn't extremely salty, which I was expecting it to be.

Brought my Mom who has pneumonia some food from the Whole Foods Breakfast Bar. Scrambled eggs, applewood smoked bacon, cheese and turkey quiche and a cup of coffee. Plus a pastry...all very very good.
