Some sort of pork loin but a cut with a lot of fat and not trimmed. (Argentine butcher) Roasted after marinating for most of the day with aceto balsamico, some hot sauce paste, olive oil, various dry seasonings, and fresh basil.

Side of broccoli and onions.

A lot of fat rendered out, a lot of fat needed trimming after cooking.

Delish!

McDonalds. Only restaurant within walking distance of where new employee orientation is.

However, I'm looking forward to cooking dinner tonight. It's with someone I just started dating and this will be our first prepared meal together...we'll see how she does (and yes, it IS a test )

How does that location compare to the Flushing and/or St. Marks branches?

I haven't been to the Flushing location but the St Marks location, which I live about 4 blocks from, I just don't get the same feel. Food is fine and all but just isn't the same. I'd rather head down to Chinatown instead. It's kind of like Vanessas. The 14 street location is overpriced (still cheap) and doesn't taste as good yet the Eldridge location is cheap and tastier.

I got it into my head that I needed to make chicken soup, but decided to roast a chicken first, make gravy and mash some potatoes. That was dinner tonight. Tomorrow, the rest of the chicken goes into a pot and soup will be made - although I have a lot of vegetables, so it'll be chicken vegetable.

Sadly, Subway for lunch and dinner (needed to be something quick and close due to meetings). For an evening snack, Green Giant vegetables and Orville Redenbacher microwave popcorn.

Not typical, haha.

Dinner at one of my favorite local places here in Durham, NC, an Afghani restaurant called Bread and Kabob. I had two kabobs (one chicken, one lamb) with rice, salad, bread and cucumber and hot sauce. I just wish the restaurant had a liquor license because this would have gone so well with beer.
