You must try Magners, a world of difference to Strongbow. Magners Pear is equally delicious and a great choice for breakfast

I've always liked Strongbow...will have to try Magners.

My partner is very partial to JK Scrumpy organic cider, available only in 22 oz bottles.

Strongbow, Magners, Bulmers are all pretty common here and are all much the same imo...

a lot of pubs here will have their own ciders available which are in another league

To me, one of the more enjoyable offshoots of increased interest for local products in American dining and drinking is the establishment of artisanal cideries (here's an example from Virginia) in a way comparable to the early days of the craft brewing industry.

$137 run to Total Wine today. Got the new Red Hook Fall seasonal beer plus some other goodies. Tonight drank a Saranac Black Forest and a Schoenling Little King. Loved the Little King, meh on he Saranac.

Ahh, its actually brewed by Gordon Biersch, but whatever. http://adage.com/article?article_id=124741 It's great and it's the best under $20 a case beer available anywhere imho. PS - I'm drinking it right now.
